The company includes 2 main production units, in Italy and the USA, as well as 5 branches in Europe. The quality of materials is confirmed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) accreditation of the ISO 9001 Quality System (UNI EN 290016 BS 5750 part 1) and numerous certificates of importing countries (88 countries as of 2000). The INDEX company specializes in the development and production of waterproofing, restoration and protective materials. The specificity is that the materials are produced under certain technologies to solve specific construction problems. Modern systems materials include products that are sometimes completely different in type chemical composition and form. To achieve a high-quality result when applied to the surfaces being treated, they should not conflict with each other, but, working together, complement each other. The range of products manufactured by INDEX includes everything necessary materials in complex. Production is carried out in 5 directions (divisions), including subgroups (lines).

I. Roll waterproofing materials

1. Line: polymer-bitumen membranes.

The catalog of these materials contains about a hundred names of rolled waterproofing materials, varied in modification with polymers and reinforcing base. Each of them is designed for specific climatic zones and to solve certain functional problems of waterproofing and vapor barrier. Let us list the sections of the catalog: composite membranes; elastomeric membranes; elastoplastomer membranes with co-polymers; elastoplastomer membranes; plastomeric membranes; elastoplastomeric membranes for special purposes; membranes protected by embossed aluminum or copper sheet; drainage sheets; accessories, fasteners, tools; oxidized bitumen membranes; reinforcing bases; oxidized bitumen; bitumen conglomerate.
The range of INDEX membranes includes all currently known types of weld-on roll waterproofing. They are successfully used for waterproofing foundations, bridges, tunnels, roofs, in road construction and wherever the highest quality is required. World-famous objects where INDEX materials are used are the world's tallest building PETRONAS TWIN TOWERS (Malaysia), the Transatlantic Channel Tunnel and many others.

2. Line: synthetic membranes.

Modern materials that replace polymer-bitumen membranes and are significantly superior to them in terms of technical specifications and reliability. The catalog includes about two dozen synthetic membranes, including the currently popular geomembrane, used for insulating municipal waste storage facilities and creating artificial ponds and reservoirs. There are also all the accessories and fasteners necessary to work with these materials.

II. Thermal insulation and sound insulation

1. Line: thermal insulation.

The materials are developed for insulating roofs of buildings. Depending on the roof structure, the type and thickness of insulation are selected. The peculiarity of this material is that it is a combined material, the insulation in it is protected from the outside by a waterproofing membrane. There is also a unique material for repair, thermal and waterproofing of roofs covered with slate and corrugated sheets. It is produced in the form of panels consisting of thermal insulation material protected by a waterproofing membrane. Materials of this type allow you to quickly and efficiently repair a roof of any structure without removing the old covering, in the shortest possible time.

2. Line: sound insulation,

Represented by soundproofing material applied to waterproofing membrane and thus combining 2 properties in one: sound insulation and waterproofing. The material is used under cement screed in interfloor ceilings of residential, office and industrial buildings, significantly increasing the comfort of the premises.

III. Liquid waterproofing

The catalog of materials includes more than three dozen cold-applied liquid polymer-bitumen compositions intended for the protection and restoration of waterproofing roof coverings, waterproofing of structural joints, anti-corrosion protection of metals, increasing fire resistance and reflective properties, as well as decorative finishing surfaces. Some of these materials can be used in winter time and on wet surfaces, providing reliable protection from both flowing and stagnant water, which is especially important for Russian climatic conditions.

IV. Plastering and repair compounds, latexes, solution modifiers, water repellents, salt barriers
1. Line: systems of materials for restoration of facades.

This group of materials was developed for the restoration of ancient monuments, decorative finishing and protection of building facades from aggressive environmental factors. Depending on the condition of the surface and the amount of water that can affect it, a system of materials is selected, which includes an anti-salt barrier, adhesive additives, macroporous and decorative plasters, putties, protective impregnations and water repellents. The use of macroporous plasters in restoration systems makes it possible to evaporate a large number of water from the surface of the walls, maintaining hygrometric balance with the atmosphere. One of the material systems in this line is a system for waterproofing recessed rooms from the inside. It includes all the necessary materials to stop water leaks through walls, seal seams, coat waterproofing of surfaces, including elastic seamless membranes, as well as decorative and antifungal coatings.

2. Line: materials for concrete repair and protection.

This is a set of non-shrinking materials with increased adhesion and strength characteristics that allow restoration concrete structures, protect them from carbonation, exposure to chlorides, sulfates and frost-thaw cycles. This line includes many additives and solution modifiers: antifreeze, aerating, waterproofing additives, plasticizers, latexes that increase water resistance, adhesion, as well as metal corrosion inhibitors, special putties and decorative protective coatings. The systematic use of restoration materials, described in INDEX technologies, makes it possible to achieve highest quality repairing concrete and restoring the strength characteristics of structures.

V. Materials for laying tiles, natural stone, mosaics, parquet, insulating panels
More than seventy specialized compounds have been developed for styling finishing materials on various surfaces. Specialized adhesives, latex additives, cement-based and epoxy-based grouts, sealants, self-leveling compounds, primers and protective impregnations are designed for high-quality and quick installation of tiles, mosaics, parquet and natural stone indoors and outdoors, including on heated substrates . Special attention compositions designed to work in conditions of constant humidity in swimming pools and bathrooms deserve. Company headings

Each of them has properties unique to it and has a marking, the decoding of which allows you to find out the characteristics of the base.

What do HPP, HKP, TPP, EPP and EKP mean?

Marking Material Material
X Fiberglass

It is a non-woven fabric consisting of randomly arranged glass threads and a binder. Different types fiberglass is distinguished by its density and tensile strength.

T Fiberglass

The fabric is woven and is based on glass fibers.

There are two types:

  • Smooth. By appearance resembles linen fabric, where the fabric is absolutely smooth.
  • Frame. The fabric is like a small net, has small cells between the individual threads.

A smooth fabric has greater tensile strength, but many manufacturers of roofing materials often use frame fabric as a base.

This is due, first of all, to such properties of smooth fiberglass as loss of shape and delamination.

Due to the structure of the fabric, rolls are not recommended to be stored and transported in a standing position, since roofing material loses its straightness and becomes crumpled. When stored horizontally in stacks, roofing material with a smooth base cakes and loses its roundness. The bottom rolls are especially susceptible to deformation.

In addition, due to special technology manufacturing, the lower and upper layers of the binder in smooth glass panels do not touch. They are glued directly to the base, separately from each other. Naturally, the adhesive force is sometimes not enough to hold the layers in place, which is why the roofing material may delaminate.

The frame canvas, in turn, is free from such disadvantages. Regardless of storage conditions, the fabric does not lose its shape thanks to the frame.

The priority of this type of fiberglass is also evidenced by the fact that for one manufacturer the cost of material on a smooth base is lower than on a frame one.

E Polyester

In the production of non-woven fabric, polyester fibers of different thicknesses and densities are used. The fabric is stretchable and is of interest as a basis for bitumen-polymer materials.

Modern roofing material with polyester as a base is resistant to such chemical substances, How:

  • salt;
  • alkalis;
  • acids.

Characteristic features of materials with a polyester base are high frost resistance, mechanical strength, durability and elasticity.

Reliable and high-quality materials are produced from such fabric.

The letter “K” in the marking means that the roofing material contains coarse chips, and “P” means a polymer film.

Drawing a conclusion, we can say that the foundations differ from each other in breaking loads. The material, which is based on fiberglass, is similar to that made on cardboard, while fiberglass can be 2 or even 4 times stronger than fiberglass, depending on the brand.

In terms of tensile strength, fabric with polyester of different brands can be close to both fiberglass and fiberglass bases. In addition, the polyester base has unique property– ability to elongate. Some varieties are capable of stretching up to 1.5 times initial parameters. This feature is valuable in combination with bitumen of a certain composition, when the binder is extended without breaks to a length exceeding the original by two thousand percent.

The quality of the base is quite difficult to verify under working conditions, so you have to rely on the integrity of the manufacturer and the integrity of the supplier. Every self-respecting manufacturer supplies pallets with roofing material with a quality certificate, which indicates the leading to rupture maximum load. It is this parameter that speaks of the reliability and excellent quality of the base.

When choosing a company, you should focus on performance. The production volume of roofing materials within 10 million sq.m/year indicates the excellent speed of production lines, and therefore a high-quality product. This fact is explained simply, because breaks constantly appear on a fragile basis, which means that production lines will be stopped all the time.

Using coarse powder

The following tasks are assigned to the coating added to the roofing material:

  • protect the binder from UV rays;
  • make the appearance of the roof decorative.

The powder is obtained by crushing various rocks, and the output is one of the following types:

  • Slate, which in turn is divided into painted chemical method slate and vermiculite.
  • There are three types of granulates - asbestos, brown granite chips and crushed basalt granulates, which acquire different shades with the help of high-temperature firing. They are not chemically stained.

Graph of elongation versus load

In the graph below you can see the dependence of the degree of stretching of materials on the load.

The following conclusions can be drawn:

Polyester is rightfully considered the most elastic material, which can stretch by 40%. It is most often used in places where there is the highest risk of deformation of the waterproofing or roofing coating.

A low percentage of rupture and level of elasticity are inherent in fiberglass, while such concepts are not applicable at all for fiberglass.
