Mounting a large TV on the wall. At what distance from the floor should a plasma TV be hung: we are guided by the height of the household and the diagonal of the screen. Wall mount

TEXT: Kirill_Shipakin March 25, 2018, 10:04

The day has finally come when the place of the old CRT TV purchased back in the 90s will be replaced by a modern flat panel. Most likely, you are thinking about placing the panel on the wall. We previously told you why (if you're going to do this, stop thinking about it now and call a professional installer). However, there is nothing wrong with just hanging the TV on the wall (without a fireplace). This placement is justified: space saving, convenience, practicality. It may seem that installing a TV is difficult, but in fact it is simple and quick.

The most important thing is not to make any mistakes in the process. If everything is done correctly, then wall mounting can be compared to preparing a cup of instant coffee, but an accidental mistake can turn your instant coffee into a “triple moccacino” according to a special recipe... In general, the process looks something like this: screw the bracket to the wall with four bolts and hang it on it TV mount. That's all. Simple, isn't it?

Now let's talk about installation more seriously. We bring to your attention a few tips that will save you from frequent and stupid mistakes.

[From the translator. In the original text we are talking mainly about thin walls made of plasterboard - this type is especially common in the USA and warm countries, while in Russian reality the user is more likely to encounter the problem of drilling holes in concrete. Nevertheless, we found the article useful for our readers, since there are different walls, but the advice here is general.]

Don't trust the discontinuity detector

An electronic irregularity/wiring detector is a very clever tool. This thing can be very useful, but such a detector can also harm you. The inaccuracy of this device may cause unnecessary holes in your walls. In short, you need to be careful with the detector. These tips will help you.

Hidden irregularity detector with laser level

Take your time. To calibrate the detector, you need to turn it on, place it against the wall and hold it in place for a few seconds. This way the device can determine the density of the material. You can then begin to slowly move the detector from side to side. Go through the entire required area, each time starting from a new point. Each spacer found by the detector must be marked (it is best to use masking tape for this). It will be better if you accurately determine the location of the nearest posts and struts. To make sure that the device did not make a mistake, you can use a tape measure to measure the distances between the posts above and below - if they coincide, then everything is correct.

Relief plaster. If you have already used a discontinuity detector on walls with a relief coating, then you should know that this is not an easy task. The detector may damage the coating. In addition, the terrain does not allow the device to function normally. The simplest solution is a piece of regular cardboard. If you place cardboard against the wall and move the detector along it, you will be able to find the beams much faster. This is a simple and effective way.

Fire cutting. Before you start drilling holes, make sure there are no fire breaks between the posts. Cutting can greatly interfere with cable routing, even if the installation is carried out by an experienced specialist.

Check twice. The inhomogeneity detector can deceive not only you and me, but it is also easily deceived. Very often this device confuses seams in drywall with wooden studs. In the places marked with masking tape, you need to make small holes with something sharp. A small screwdriver, strong wire or something similar will do. The main thing is that you feel with your hand what you are resting against. If the tool falls into the wall, then there is no stand there. You can try to hammer in a nail, if it holds tightly, then the stand has been found. In the end, it won't hurt to play it safe again and make a couple of small holes to the left and right of the main drilling location. This way you can figure out where the center of the post is so you don't have to drill a hole at the very edge of the block. The hole should be approximately in the middle - this is more reliable and less likely to touch the electrical wiring.

Everything is gone: there are no beams

So, before you begin installation work, make sure that all your low-voltage cables are certified for in-wall wiring. Also keep in mind that the kit for in-wall extension of the IWPE cable, depending on the manufacturer, includes wires of different lengths (usually from 2 meters). In addition, there are some restrictions. For example, you cannot use the IWPE kit near a fireplace. It's best not to ignore these rules.

Installing a TV on the wall is not difficult and takes little time. At the same time, this event requires little skill and knowledge, otherwise the device will hardly be able to hang for a long time. Next we will look at step by step instructions about how to install a screen on a wall with your own hands, as well as mistakes that you should never make.

Advantages and disadvantages of the wall-mounted option

IN modern world Manufacturers of plasma, LCD and LED screens are trying to reduce the size of their products as much as possible. This is due to the fact that compactness allows you to save free space to create a more spacious interior. In addition, a flat screen can become the highlight of the interior, decorating a wall in both modern and retro style. In the photo you can see one of the options original design TV on the wall:

Another advantage of installing a TV on the wall is that equipment is less susceptible to mechanical damage if it is hung at a distance of at least half a meter from the floor.

As for the disadvantages, they may be as follows:

  • a poorly secured bracket can cause the screen to fall to the floor, which will lead to complete failure;
  • this installation option is more labor-intensive and is carried out with a partner (if the diagonal and weight are large enough);
  • there are restrictions on placement: it is prohibited to install a TV above heating devices and on weak walls (for example, gypsum board, if the device weighs more than 35 kg).

However, the idea of wall mounting is very popular and does not cause any problems if you follow the advice during installation work.

Detailed hanging instructions

To make the material more understandable for you, we provide step-by-step instructions for installing a TV on the wall with your own hands:

Select the placement height. To do this, you need to sit on the sofa (or chair) and select the most suitable viewing area. As a rule, in the kitchen, a wall-mounted TV is installed under the ceiling. This is due to the fact that when cooking food, attention is not paid so much to the picture, but music or a voice from the news is more important. As for the bedroom and living room, it is recommended to install the screen at a height of about one meter above the floor, which is optimal value for comfortable viewing.
We apply markings to the wall. You will need a simple pencil, a building level and a tape measure. Based on the specified distance between the fasteners, we mark points on the wall, as shown in the photo. Be sure to check the horizontality of future holes, because... Even a slight misalignment can cause the screen to fall.

Using a drill, drill holes in the indicated places. To avoid contact with electrical wiring running under the finish, use. This device will also help you find the profile under the sheet of drywall (you need to drill into it when installing the TV on the wall).

We drive in the dowels and fix the brackets. If the wall is concrete, no problems will arise. You need to be extremely careful with drywall and if you doubt that the structure can withstand the equipment, it is better to refuse this installation option. You also need to attach the guides from the bracket to the corresponding holes on the TV.

When the installation of the TV bracket is completed, prepare the screen and carefully install it in the guides (or tighten it with bolts if this method of fastening is used).
Now all that remains is to properly connect the wall-mounted TV to the network and enjoy watching it. Please note that it is better to hide all wires in a plastic cable channel so as not to spoil the interior of the room. Also, so that the wires are not visible, move the sockets behind the screen. We talked about that after its installation in a separate article.

That's the whole technology for installing a TV on the wall with your own hands. At first glance, everything is simple, but there are still many nuances that need to be taken into account. We will talk about them further, but now we strongly recommend viewing the visual instructions:

A clear example of installation on wood paneling

To ensure that your equipment lasts a long time and does not fall off the wall, we recommend that you take into account following tips for installing a wall-mounted TV:

  1. When purchasing brackets (usually they are not included), be sure to check with the seller what diagonal and weight of the device they are designed for.
  2. A fixed mount is much more reliable than a rotating mount, although it reduces viewing comfort.
  3. If you decide to install the TV in a plaster niche (which is fashionable lately), consider the possibility of air circulation, otherwise the case will overheat, which will eventually cause serious damage.
  4. A suspended screen can be secured with a homemade plasterboard stand. It won’t take much time to do it, but security will significantly increase.
  5. Do not place the screen above a home fireplace or other types of heaters. The radiated heat will also negatively affect the performance and service life of the equipment.
  6. First, you must securely hang the TV on the wall, and then connect all the wires. Please note that if the brackets are rotating, the length of the wires should be enough to rotate the screen in both directions (without tension).
  7. The optimal distance from the screen to the viewing area should be from 3 to 4 diagonal sizes.

No home is complete without a TV. It’s so nice in the evening after work, with a cup of tea or a glass of wine, to relax on the sofa in front of the TV hanging on the wall. After all, this option for placing the TV does not require much space and it is much more convenient to watch it than if it were standing on a cabinet or coffee table. But how to attach the TV? Let's figure it out.

How to choose the right place on the wall for your TV

When choosing a place for the TV, you should take care of safety and convenience when watching it. Therefore, you should use the following rules for monitor placement.

  • Selecting a part of the room for the TV. It all depends on the arrangement of your furniture and the location of the windows. Sit in the place from which you plan to watch and choose the most comfortable point for your eyes. Don't forget to take into account the dimensions of the TV panel.

Advice. Do not place the TV in front of windows. Glare and glare on the screen will not let you relax.

  • Comfortable height. The optimal height is at eye level. Therefore, you should also take into account the audience who will watch TV with you. You can hang it a little lower or higher, it will depend on the characteristics of the room. For example, a panel with an impressive diagonal should be hung slightly above your eyes, and if you prefer to watch TV on the floor, lower it lower.
  • Wires and cable. It's not nice if all the wires are just hanging out from under the TV. They need to be hidden. It’s good if during the repair you thought through everything and brought the socket and cable directly behind the TV. Otherwise, use a cable box and decorate it to match the style of the room.

Advice. When making repairs, it is advisable to place a block of 4-6 sockets at a height of 30 cm from the floor. Today, technology does not stand still, and such sockets will certainly come in handy.

  • How to attach a monitor to a wall. Basically, three methods are used: a bracket, without a bracket, and mounting the TV to the ceiling.

TV mounting methods

Mounting with bracket. Bracket translated from German language– holder. This device is used to mount objects on a vertical surface: the device will help you hang the TV on the wall.

Today there are many brackets available in stores and they are divided according to certain criteria:

  • inclined - suitable for small TVs up to 26 inches diagonal;
  • movable – used for mounting a flat monitor with a diagonal of 13-26 inches.

The holder is equipped with a rotating lever, thanks to which you can change the angles of inclination to the sides and up and down;

  • low profile - designed for a maximum of 40 inch TVs;
  • adapter - adds width, supports a panel no more than 65 inches;
  • hinged structures - with their help you can rotate the TV in any direction.

Mounting a TV without a bracket. This method is used when it is not possible to hang the monitor on the wall. Here a special frame is used, on which the TV will then be hung.

Ceiling option. This is the same bracket, it is simply fixed to the ceiling. Before purchasing such a pendant mount, you need to determine what kind of finish you have on the ceiling and how high the ceilings are.

How to attach a TV to the wall with your own hands using a bracket

The most in a simple way To hang a TV on the wall is to buy a bracket for this. Having decided on a TV mount, we can begin installing it using the following tools:

  • screwdriver;
  • roulette;
  • screws.

  1. We start by attaching the TV to the bracket plate.
  2. We try it on the wall and make marks at the attachment points.
  3. We make holes according to the marks.
  4. We place the structure against the wall and attach it.

With a minimum of effort on your part, your family will be able to get together to watch interesting films.

How to attach a TV to a wall with your own hands without a bracket

You will need the following tools:

  • electric drill;
  • screwdriver;
  • roulette;
  • screws or dowels, depending on the wall material;
  • hammer.

Take, for example, a TV with mounting holes located at a distance of 20 cm in both width and height. For such a monitor you will need a 24 x 24 perforated plate, you can take more.

  1. Using a tape measure, mark on the wall a place to mount the TV.
  2. We make holes in the wall according to the marks.
  3. We drill holes in the plate identical to the holes on the back of the monitor.
  4. We fasten the plate to the TV with 4 bolts (included with the TV).
  5. We apply the plate to the wall and fix it with dowels.

The work is finished, you can enjoy watching TV programs.

How to attach a ceiling bracket with your own hands

Tools you can't do without:

  • electric drill;
  • drill;
  • screwdriver;
  • roulette;
  • dowels;
  • hammer.

Having collected the above tools, you can begin installation work.

  1. We make a mark on the ceiling and drill holes for attaching the bracket rods.
  2. We attach the rods to the holes and fix them with dowels.
  3. We secure the removable part of the bracket with bolts to the back of the monitor.
  4. We connect both parts. We connect the part with the already attached TV to the rod and fix the connected parts.
  5. We finish the work by installing protective decorative caps.

This is one of available ways attach the TV to the ceiling. The whole structure looks original and gives the room a feeling of spaciousness.

To ensure safety and facilitate the TV installation process, you should use the following advice from experienced specialists:

  • 1/8-inch drill bits are best for installing the structure. This diameter is smaller than the mounting screws, so they will fit closely.
  • Do not hang TV monitors that weigh more than 30 kg on walls made of plasterboard.
  • Televisions that weigh more than 20 kg and their width exceeds 1.5 m need to be hung by two people; it will be difficult for one person to cope with this task.
  • Cables should only be connected after complete installation.
  • To avoid breakage and fire of the power cable, make sure that it is not bent or taut.

  • Monitor the work process so that when drilling you do not get into the electrical wiring hidden in the wall. Check the technical plan of the house or apartment where your wiring is located.
  • To fasten the above-mentioned structures, use specially designed dowels of different sizes.

The screen, which can be hung on the ceiling or on the wall, solves many problems. With the help of such systems it is easy to hide cosmetic defects in your apartment. This structure saves a lot of space and looks very impressive. In addition, a hanging TV can always be interestingly combined with decor, while creating an emphasis on its presence in the room. Thanks to modern metal structures that help hold the TV, you can set the tone for the entire room and bring to life the most daring and interesting design solutions.

Thanks to modern technologies, we now have thin, almost flat TVs. Not only can they have any diagonal size - from small to huge - but they also weigh several times less than older models. All this makes it possible to mount them on the wall. This option removes almost all restrictions - you can hang the TV even in a walk-through area, taking care of reliability. What types of wall mounts are there for a TV and how to mount it - read on.

You can hang a flat-screen TV on the wall, or you can use a ceiling mount. The second option is less popular - the screen is too high. This type of installation is usually used in kitchens, where the walls are occupied by cabinets and cupboards, and the TV itself is more of an accompaniment than the main activity. In all other rooms - bedrooms, living rooms - they most often use a TV mount on the wall. Not installing it on support legs, but hanging it on special frames or mounting plates.

Height

First you need to determine the height of the TV installation on the wall. This parameter is selected individually, and for different heights and different types furniture height may vary. They assume that it is convenient to watch TV if the middle of the screen is at eye level and it is easier to determine it experimentally. In the living room, you need to sit on a sofa or chair, looking in front of you to determine the height of the middle of the screen. Approximately, this is 100-120 cm from the floor level.

The height of mounting a TV in the bedroom is determined in approximately the same way. Here, TV shows are usually watched from the bed, so the height may be lower. But from this position it is more convenient to look not straight ahead, but slightly upward, so being too low is also inconvenient. The average height of a TV in a bedroom is about 100 cm. We remind you once again that this is the height of the middle of the screen.

Distance from furniture

This option is not entirely related to the topic of mounting a TV on the wall, but you can’t do without it either. Comfortable viewing distance depends on the screen size. In fact, everything is simple here - there is a table that indicates the minimum and maximum values, you need to “fit” into these frames.

This table, by the way, can be used for another purpose - knowing the distance at which your sofa or chair will be installed, select the diagonal of the TV.

Types of TV mounts

You should choose a wall mount for your TV after you already have the TV. On its back wall there are holes for installing fasteners. You will need distances between them. By measuring them, you will know what distance you need the suspension (this data is also in the passport). Some models of TV wall mounts allow you to change this distance, but not all. So you need to be careful.

What else you need to pay attention to is the material from which the fasteners are made. They come in plastic and metal. Plastic ones are suitable for small and light models. Metal - for heavier ones. There are also combined models - made of metal, but with plastic parts. In any case, you need to focus on the maximum weight of the TV that the mount can hold. This parameter is required to be specified, along with the screen diagonal dimensions.

For fixed installation

If there is no need to rotate the TV screen, it is better to choose a bracket for fixed TV mounting. This option takes up almost no space and allows you to hang the device almost flush to the wall. There are models that allow you to hang the screen parallel to the wall, and others with a fixed tilt.

TV wall mount: a heavyweight model

One part is mounted on the wall, the second is attached to the back wall of the TV

Consists of two plates. One of them is hung on the wall, the second is screwed to the TV. There are protrusions on one part and grooves on the other. When installing, the protrusions cling to the grooves. That's it, the TV was hung on the wall. Naturally, the more the TV weighs, the thicker the metal should be on the bracket.

Inclined brackets

This type of TV wall mount allows you to change the angle of the screen relative to the floor. In some cases, this is convenient - you can expand the screen for a clearer perception of the picture.

This type of mount takes up little more space. Structurally, the models are very similar to the previous type, only one degree of adjustment has been added. Since the screen is usually tilted slightly downwards, it is the upper mount that is made movable.

Pan-tilt

When mounted on such brackets, the screen can be rotated both vertically (turns left and right) and horizontally (up and down). To ensure the possibility of such maneuvers, the screen is moved away from the wall at a fairly considerable distance and this must be taken into account.

Installed in multifunctional premises, where you may need to rotate the screen. Can be used in the kitchen, in offices, in rooms where there are different functional areas. This TV wall mount is significantly more expensive because it uses complex mechanisms to ensure rotation.

Some brackets (fixed and inclined), in the part that is attached to the wall, have a bubble level built into them. This makes it easier to navigate during installation, but if you have a good and proven one, use it to check the installation is correct.

How to hang a TV on the wall: choosing fasteners

Perhaps it’s worth starting with the choice of fasteners. Often, a TV wall mount is equipped with fasteners - dowels. They are designed for the maximum weight that the bracket can support, so they can be used. But they are only suitable for walls with normal load-bearing capacity - brick or concrete. Nowadays, walls are often made of loose materials in which the dowels do not hold and it is impossible to hang anything on them. Such walls have their own fastenings.

For drywall

For gypsum board partitions, special butterfly dowels are used. They come in plastic and metal. Since the TV still has quite a significant weight, it is better to take metal dowels. The load they can withstand is significantly higher than that of plastic ones.

When a dowel is screwed into an installed plug, the plug “opens up”, forming separate “wings” that redistribute the load over a larger area. It is because of this that you can hang something on drywall.

But, even with such dowels, when installing the TV on a plasterboard wall, try to select the installation height so that the upper fastener of the support plate falls on the profile or beam to which it is attached plasterboard sheet. Otherwise, there is no guarantee that the sheet will withstand the load.

For loose and hollow substrates

For hollow and crumbling bases there is another fastener - chemical dowels. For crumbling and loose bases, they consist of a capsule or ampoule with glue and an anchor or pin. For hollow bases a mesh cylinder is added to this set. When installing the TV on the wall, drill a hole for the fasteners and clean it well. This is very important point. The hole must be cleaned of all loose particles (you can use a vacuum cleaner). This is the only way to count on normal adhesion (adhesion to the material) and good load-bearing capacity of the fastener.

An ampoule/capsule is inserted into the prepared hole, a pin/anchor is screwed or hammered into it, and a dowel plug can also be installed. Next you need to wait until adhesive composition will harden (about an hour), after which you can continue working.

In walls made of hollow bricks or building blocks, a mesh cylinder is first installed in the prepared hole. Then the capsule/ampoule is placed in the cylinder and all further actions are no different. Why do you need a cylinder? It does not allow the glue to spread too much, but ensures its penetration and adhesion to nearby material.

Is it possible to save money by using regular glue rather than chemical dowels? In general, it is possible, but without guarantees. Chemical dowels use an adhesive composition that ensures adhesion to different materials, including with plastic. Ordinary glue does not have such properties.

For thin walls

In some cases, you need to hang the TV on a thin partition. Moreover, they can be so thin that it will not be possible to install fasteners of the required length - they will come out on the other side. In this case, it is better to take not dowels or screws, but studs or bolts. Drill through holes, on the other hand, under the bolt head or stud nut, place a wide washer. This will give good load-bearing capacity even in gas or foam concrete.

To with reverse side The wall fasteners did not spoil the picture; they can be “drowned.” To do this, drill a hole of small depth so that you can hide the washer and cap/nut. After everything is installed and secured, these holes can be covered with putty.

For thin walls with normal load-bearing capacity (brick), there is another way - to use a wooden block or a strip of metal as a spacer. This will help install fasteners of normal length and at the same time distribute the load more evenly.

Mounting a TV on a wall: step-by-step instructions

After you have decided on where to install the TV, you need to check if there is any wiring in the wall. This can be done using . Only after this can you begin installation.

That's it, the TV mount is installed on the wall, the TV is hanging. You can turn it on. But these instructions for hanging a TV on the wall are suitable for fixed and tilting models. Tilt-and-swivel brackets only have two extra steps—you have to remove the plate that attaches to the TV. Usually it's one or two bolts. An example of installing such a TV mount on a wall is in the following video.

Homemade TV mounts

As you have seen, TV brackets are not a complicated product. Especially those for fixed installation. Moreover, the price for some models ( good quality, from good metal) not little. To save money, you can try to make something similar using affordable and widely available materials.

Made from aluminum corners

The supporting structure for hanging the TV on the wall is made of four corners. Aluminum corners with a wall thickness of 3 mm were chosen, and the shelf width was at least 25 mm. Otherwise it will be very inconvenient to work.

You can also take steel ones, but they are more difficult to process - cutting, drilling - and the load from modern TVs is not so great.

The corners were cut according to the distance between the holes for mounting on the back of the TV with a margin of a couple of centimeters on each side. The most difficult thing is to make holes in the corners so that they exactly coincide with the mounting ones, and are also at the same level. This will allow you to hang the TV flat on the wall.

You can drill holes arbitrarily on the pair of corners that are attached to the wall. It doesn't matter. You can make two holes, you can make more. Depends on the load-bearing capacity of the walls. For concrete, two are enough. But you need to find out at what distance they should be placed on the wall. It should be such that the corners attached to the TV are either slightly wider or slightly narrower (by the thickness of the corner, plus one or two millimeters for free movement.

Having placed the corners, we outline the places for installing the dowels, drill holes in the wall, insert plugs, but do not hang the corners yet. It is also necessary to drill holes in them into which the fixing fasteners will be inserted. To do this, we fold the corners the way they will be finished on your wall, mark where you need to drill holes, and make it (small diameter). Now you can install it on the wall.

Next, you need to align the holes in the corners and insert fasteners into them. IN in this case bicycle spokes were used, but these could be bolts, studs, etc. That's it, the homemade TV wall mount is ready, the TV is fixed and ready for use.

With minimal effort

To avoid the hassle of adjusting the holes, you can find mounting angles with perforations. You will need to buy eight of them - two for each mounting hole. Mount four on the TV, four on the wall. Next, hang it up and insert fasteners into the holes for fixation (usually small-diameter bolts).

Homemade TV wall mount - an option without unnecessary movements

If such corners seem unreliable to you, you can find reinforced ones in stores. They are used to fix racks in frame house construction; they secure load-bearing roof structures. So they can withstand a significant load.

Swivel pipe bracket

This model allows you to rotate the screen left and right, but you will need welding, an angle grinder, a powerful drill and a bending machine. But this mount will support even the heaviest of TVs. There’s probably no need to explain anything here.

  • Two steel plates - for mounting on the wall and screen, in which holes for fasteners are made in the corners;
  • Two segments steel pipe- larger and smaller diameter. They are selected so that the larger diameter fits freely onto the smaller diameter pipe.
  • Eight bolts or studs.

Having some experience in welding, it will not be difficult to assemble all this, and the method of mounting it to the wall is standard.

When purchasing a modern TV, the owner must know how to hang the TV on the wall correctly, conveniently and safely. A flat LCD or LED screen can highlight modern design apartment and completely ruin it. To avoid damage and additional costs, the location of the TV is planned at the design project or until the point of repair, when the electrician lays the wiring.

How to prepare for TV installation

There is no universal place to mount the screen on the wall. Plasma or LCD TVs are placed depending on the wishes of the apartment owner and the interior features. There are no restrictions on the material of the walls where the screen will be fixed; it can be a plasterboard or foam concrete partition, or a brick wall.

To figure out how to mount a TV on the wall, take into account a number of important factors:

  1. Specifications.
    You can properly mount a monitor on the wall if you know its dimensions and weight. Such data is indicated on the packaging or in the operating instructions for the device. If the product weighs more than 25 kg, install the screen together to avoid injury and equipment falling.
  2. Wall material.
    The surface can be concrete, brick, wood or plasterboard. Depending on the type of wall, installation tools, holders and fittings are selected.
  3. Electrical wiring diagram.
    You need to mount the TV where installation will not damage the wiring. Correct location The TV will be able to hide the wires, and the equipment will look good and neat.

Only after familiarizing yourself with these characteristics in detail do you determine how to mount the TV on the wall. It must prevent damage to electrical wiring, damage to the wall structure, and the screen falling due to improper fastening.

What types of fastening exist?

Having determined the main technical parameters, we begin to install the equipment. It is possible in two ways:

  • without bracket. A simple way for those who want to securely and quickly mount the screen to the wall. How to hang a TV without a bracket? The TV panel is mounted directly on the wall or on an aluminum profile. Disadvantage - fixed equipment cannot be tilted or rotated;
  • with bracket. For those who value comfort and convenience of watching TV. The choice of mounting bracket depends on the size and model of the TV. A stationary, rotary or tilt-and-turn system can be selected. The bracket allows you to change the angle or tilt of the screen, which helps avoid glare and make viewing more comfortable.

Butterfly dowel for attaching the bracket to the wall

If you purchased a Samsung or any other TV with a large diagonal, it is recommended to mount it on a fixed bracket for maximum stability of the TV. For models with a small diagonal, it is recommended to use a movable bracket.

How to mount a TV on a wall

Mounting a TV screen on the wall is convenient both in the living room and bedroom, as well as in the kitchen. Placing the monitor on the wall provides it with the maximum level of stability, since the TV panel is not fixed to a movable structure, but “tightly”.

Manufacturers of TV screens took care of ease of installation by making special holes on the back of the panel through which you can hang the monitor on the wall. This makes the task easier and makes the whole process no more difficult than hanging a picture. It is necessary to take into account that what more mass screen, the more powerful the fasteners will be required. Incorrectly selected fittings can cause the TV panel to fall.

Installation involves drilling the wall, installing fasteners into the holes and hanging the TV itself. It is important to study the wiring layout so as not to damage it when drilling holes. It is better to hire a qualified electrician to do this.

The curved monitor is designed for corner mounting and is recommended for wall mounting or a fixed bracket.

How to hang a TV on a bracket

To install a plasma or LCD screen safely and quickly, it is recommended to adhere to the following algorithm of actions:

  1. Markings are made for future holes drilled in the wall. You will need to use a tape measure to measure the distance of the bracket holes from the bottom to the top edge of the structure. The height at which the equipment will be mounted is measured from the floor covering. The lower holes will be located at this level. A level is applied and a horizontal line is drawn. This step is important because the TV needs to hang as level as possible.

  2. The wall part of the bracket is attached so that the marked line runs at the level of the lower holes.
  3. Dots are drawn in the holes of the bracket - these are the drilling locations.
  4. A special device is used to check the wall for hidden electrical wiring.
  5. Having ensured safety, drilling is carried out along the previously made marks.

  6. Dowels are driven into the resulting holes with a hammer.
  7. The bracket is applied to the wall, bolts (sometimes self-tapping screws) are screwed into the previously installed dowels.

  8. After making sure that the bracket is securely screwed, you can begin hanging the screen on it.
