How to clean carbon deposits from a kitchen stove. How to clean a glass-ceramic electric stove. How to clean grease from a stove

Good afternoon friends!

The first month of spring is coming to an end. Despite the fact that the sun doesn’t come out often yet, you still want to do some general cleaning of the house, especially since Easter will soon be approaching before you know it.

Shall we clean the stove today? I already cleaned mine just this morning, it shines like new! I will share tips with you: how to clean the stove from carbon deposits and grease, how to clean the grate of a gas stove, what folk remedies to use for the stove. Will you tell us about your secrets and effective methods, okay?

Of course, it is correct to wash the stove every day, as well as the dishes. Both aesthetically pleasing and hygienic, and not much time will be spent. But this does not always happen due to various circumstances.

And no matter how neat we are, sometimes we have to make efforts to clean the stove from carbon deposits. For example, this happens to me when I cook pea soup, it always tries to escape from the pan. It’s like the guard is on guard, if you turn away for a second, he’ll immediately do a mischief.

Well, rarely do anyone wash the stove handles and grates every day.

So, let's start putting our stove in order.

Stove cleaner

You probably first of all ask the question, how to clean the stove?

I want to say that to clean the stove you can, in principle, use any detergents, but not abrasive, so as not to damage the enamel.

I gave up chemicals a long time ago and use simple ones to clean both the stove and dishes.

It doesn’t matter what you use to clean it, you just need to keep in mind that no matter what stove cleaner you use, not one, even the super-effective one that is advertised, will begin to act instantly. Such miracles do not happen, because any product must first react with fat and carbon deposits; the fat particles are broken down gradually. So don’t rush to rub right away, wait a little until the fat dissolves, and then all that remains is to lightly rub and wash the surface.

How to clean the surface of the stove

First of all, remove the grate and burners from the stove.

Option 1: soda

We put a solution of baking soda and water in a cup, apply this slurry to the surface of the stove using a sponge. In those places where there is particularly strong contamination: carbon deposits and dried grease, usually around the burners, we apply more product.

Leave for 5 minutes, wipe with a damp sponge. Heavily contaminated areas can be cleaned a little without requiring much effort. Then wipe the stove with a damp cloth and wipe dry.

In severe cases, when the stove remained dirty for several days (this is not about us at all, but still), we leave the slurry of water and soda for more long time- for 15-20 minutes or simply repeat the cleaning procedure again.

This is how you can quickly and easily clean the stove from carbon deposits and grease with soda. I always use this method.

Second option: vinegar and soda

We work with gloves!

Sprinkle a little vinegar (regular table vinegar, 6 or 9 percent) on the surface of the stove. Just a little bit, you don’t want the vinegar to float. We help it spread over the entire surface of the slab with a sponge.

Sprinkle soda on top. The vinegar and baking soda will react and begin to sizzle. After the reaction has finished, you can wait a few more minutes and clean and wash the stove.

After cleaning the stove with vinegar, it shines and sparkles in an absolutely amazing way! The surface of the stove even creaks if you run your finger over it.

The only downside to this method for me is that you need to wear gloves! But they are not always at hand, and I don’t really like working with gloves.

So for daily cleaning of the stove I just use soda, and during spring cleaning already soda and vinegar.

How to clean stove handles

Cleaning the handles from the stove is also a sore point. A lot of different dirt flows under them during cooking.

I heard that hard-to-reach areas around handles can be cleaned with ammonia-anise drops using cotton swabs. Ammonia removes fat very well, and anise softens strong smell ammonia.

The scheme is still the same - clean - wash - wipe.

But I didn't use this method.

Until recently, I cleaned my pens with baking soda using an old toothbrush.

We need these devices in cases where the handles on the stove cannot be removed.

When I was preparing this material, I came across the following video by Nelya Gulyavay, be sure to watch it!

After watching, I ran to find out if the handles on my stove were removable. It turned out yes! To my shame, I didn't know this.

Well, now everything has become even simpler: we remove the handles, clean them, wash them, as well as the surface of the stove under them, and put everything back in place.

Cleaning the burners is also not difficult. You need to apply a cleaning agent to them, after a few minutes rub them with a toothbrush, wash and dry.

How to clean the grate on a gas stove

Now we are approaching the worst part: the bars. There’s already soot accumulated on it, it’s terrible!

I read this interesting thing: supposedly the grilles are specially made black so that carbon deposits on them are not visible.

Every day, drops of liquid and fat flow onto the grates, dry up, and during cooking they heat up, smoke, and we breathe in this harmful fumes, so we need to clean the grates more often.

Under no circumstances should knives be used to avoid damaging the surface and leaving unsightly scratches on it.

I looked on the Internet about the recommended methods for cleaning the grate: heating it over a fire, getting rid of carbon deposits with a blowtorch, and boiling it in water with soda and laundry soap.

This is boiling, in fact, the most effective method for cleaning cast iron grates. What do I need to do?

Take the largest saucepan, pour water, put it on the fire to boil. Pour 5 tablespoons of soda ash (per 10 liters of water), a finely grated piece of laundry soap, you can also add an apple, which should also be grated.

Soda ash has better cleaning properties; it has high acidity, so we have a greater chance of achieving the desired result.

We immerse the grate in this solution and boil for quite a long time, looking at the situation and contamination.

But not every grate can fit into a pan, and those made from other materials cannot be boiled at all. There is an exit. Place the grate on a baking sheet, lay it down with oilcloth and pour this hot, freshly boiled solution over it. After an hour, you can clean and wash the grill.

How to clean the grill on gas stove more? You can do it even simpler: apply a slurry of soda to the surface of the grate for 40 minutes, and then clean it with a steel wool, which is what I usually do.

Ugh! The work is finished, the stove shines, it’s nice to look at it and it’s nice to be in a clean kitchen, and you’re not ashamed in front of guests and household members.

No kitchen today can be imagined without a stove on which the cooking process takes place. And since this device is used frequently, its surface becomes dirty after almost every action performed on it. To prevent the stove from becoming covered with an indelible layer of grease and soot over time, you need to clean it in a timely manner.

Kitchen stoves are made from the most different materials. These include glass ceramics, enamel, and stainless steel. When cleaning any of these coatings there are some features that should not be forgotten.

The main thing is not to start the stove until the carbon deposits are embedded in the coating and hardened by high temperature. All fresh stains should be wiped off immediately with a damp cloth or sponge.

It is best to wash the stove after each use. In this case, regular dishwashing detergent and a sponge soaked in water are sufficient.

You can fight already ingrained dirt with a slice of lemon. It is enough to wipe the tile surfaces with it and wait 15-18 minutes until the acid is absorbed into the dirty spots. Next, all that remains is to wipe the coating with a clean cloth and enjoy the oven without dirt or streaks.

A solution of soap and soda works great for removing carbon deposits and grease on the stove:

  • First you need to mix 2 tbsp. l. soda with liquid soap;
  • Then add a little water to the resulting mixture;
  • Apply the solution to the stove cover and wait 15-17 minutes;
  • Wipe the stove with a clean sponge.

When cleaning a stainless steel stove, you should not use products containing acid, chlorine or abrasive particles that scratch the surface. The same can be said about enamel surfaces - they cannot be washed with metal brushes or substances with abrasives. Creamy cleansers are best suited for this purpose.

To clean the burners and switches on the stove from carbon deposits you need:

  • Remove each burner and place it in a solution of dishwashing detergent and water for 18-20 minutes;
  • Then wipe the items with a sponge and rinse the solution thoroughly with water;
  • Wipe thoroughly.

To clean dirt from switches, you can use cotton pads or swabs previously soaked in ammonia.

Options: how to clean carbon deposits from a ceramic hob

The modern market offers housewives stoves made from a variety of materials, including glass-ceramics. This coating must be handled very carefully, as this surface is susceptible to any action and is very easy to scratch or stain.

To clean the ceramic panel, you need to wait until it cools down. You should not work with a hot surface, as you can get burned and deform the coating.

Caring for such a hob involves cleaning it regularly, as well as keeping it clean and dry.

Do not clean a gas or electric stove with a ceramic coating with products containing solid particles, as well as metal brushes, knives or sponges that have dried out from age.

To wash glass ceramics, you can use the following gentle and grease- and carbon-dissolving agents:

  • Spul-Balsam;
  • Fairy;
  • Top House;
  • Karaform Active;
  • Toprens Electrolux;
  • Kama Sol;
  • Miele (can also be used for of stainless steel);
  • Tana Professional.

If the fat or soot has already become very ingrained, you can use the following methods:

  1. Make a mixture of 25 g of regular laundry soap, 20 g of baking soda, 2 tbsp. l. vinegar and a small amount hot water. The solution is applied to the coating, and after a couple of hours it is thoroughly washed off the stove.
  2. Apply olive oil to the dirt and leave it for half an hour. After this, remove the burnt food with a scraper or sponge. Then wash the stove well with a cleaning agent.

To remove stains, polish and add a beautiful shine to the surface, you can use a window cleaner.

To clean induction cooker, you don’t have to do particularly complicated actions either:

  • Wet the sponge in a soap solution or a special product;
  • Wipe the surface well;
  • Rinse the tiles with water;
  • Polish with a soft cloth.

By caring for your stove every day, you won't have to use thermonuclear cleaners to clean it.

After all, washing with gloves is inconvenient and difficult.

  • Laundry soap;

  • Table vinegar;
  • Ammonia;
  • Baking soda;
  • Anise-ammonia drops.

The listed reagents, which are always available in every home, will help you easily and effortlessly clean your gas stove at home, even stubborn and stubborn dirt in the form of grease and carbon deposits. In addition, they can easily cope with cleaning other household appliances without harming the surface or skin of the owner’s hands. Washing a gas stove with folk remedies is also a very economical solution to the problem.

Step-by-step cleaning instructions

To clean a gas stove at home, you must perform the following steps:

  1. The first thing to do is to ensure the safety of the process. After all, when cleaning, you may accidentally touch the stove handle and turn on the gas. Therefore, completely turn off the gas supply and disconnect the gas stove from the power supply (if there is an electric ignition function). This precaution will ensure maximum safety during cleaning.
  2. Now you should prepare a solution of laundry soap. To do this, grate about a quarter of the piece and dissolve it in 6 liters of hot water. You can clean the grate with this mixture. Simply remove it and immerse it in a large container of solution so that it completely covers the part.
  3. Then you should remove the stainless steel burners, which, along with the grate, have persistent dirt of a similar composition and place them in the same basin with a soap solution.
  4. Now you need to remove small dirt, crumbs and food debris from the surface of the stove. This can be done with a regular hard sponge. An important condition is that you should not wet the stove with water, otherwise the entire cleaning process will become much more complicated.
  5. To clean the handles and oven, you will need to consider many more complex aspects that are worth considering separately. These are the most labor-intensive and difficult stages; any housewife with experience will confirm this. But preparatory stage has come to an end. All that remains is to remove the handles.

Cleaning the grate and burners

Steel, stainless steel or cast iron grates and burners are the most durable and chemical-resistant parts, so there are many options for effective ones at home.

  • The easiest and most effective way to clean them is to put them in the dishwasher. To do this, pour more dishwashing liquid into the machine. After completing the procedure, simply dry the stainless steel grates.
  • If you do not have a dishwasher, then you should leave the grate and stainless steel burners soaked in soapy water for at least twelve hours. After this, the dirt will be very easy to wash off, and this part of the gas stove will again shine with pristine cleanliness.
  • If the stains are very persistent, then after pre-soaking you should use regular sand or baking soda. After which you need to rinse the part under running water and dry.

In order to prevent the adhesion of new contaminants, there is a very simple and effective way. The next time you clean, you won't need to wash for hours, just rinse the grate and stainless steel burners warm water, and the dirt with remaining fat will come off instantly. So, apply the following mixture to the dry surface of the grate and stainless steel or steel burner, free of carbon deposits:

  1. Soda Ash;
  2. Washing powder;
  3. Transparent office glue.

The ratio of the component parts should correspond to the proportion 6:1:2. This will need to be repeated regularly, at least once every three months.

We remove stubborn grease stains

Excellent option for softening old fat and soot is regular hot water. If grease stains are difficult to clean, you will have to leave them soaked for about half an hour. After this, you should use regular baking soda. But the cleaning effect can be enhanced if you use a soap solution instead of hot water. This mixture will help you wash away even the most stubborn fat deposits effectively and without much effort.

Once the grease deposits have completely soaked, thoroughly wipe the mixture off the stovetop using a sponge. As a further stage of processing, it is necessary to wipe the surface with ammonia, mixing it with water in equal parts.

Under no circumstances should you use metal sponges or hard brushes to clean a gas stove from grease and carbon deposits. After all, in doing so, you will damage the surface of the slab; deep scratches will form on it, into which dirt can easily penetrate. If you cannot wash away the stains with regular sponge, then you can wash it with a toothbrush, and in hard-to-reach places you should use a cotton swab.

The already familiar mixture of laundry soap will perfectly clean old fat deposits. Only in this case the mixture should be much thicker. To do this, grate a bar of soap and add hot water until you get a consistency similar to a paste. Apply the resulting mixture to the surface of the gas stove, leave it for a quarter of an hour, and then rinse and dry.

Another great way to clean stubborn grease stains is to use citric acid. Apply it to the stove and wipe it off after a quarter of an hour. And burnt stains, which also add a lot of trouble, can be easily dealt with with a mixture of table vinegar and ammonia.

Effective cleaning of handles

Gas stove handles are one of the most difficult parts to clean. They get dirty quickly and have a complex shape, so cleaning handles from dirt at home is much more difficult. If the handles on a gas stove can be easily removed, you can soak them in a solution with detergent. You can use a solution of laundry soap prepared according to the same principles as for the grate. The soaking time should be at least eight hours. At the same time, various contaminants are softened quite well, which facilitates their further cleaning very quickly.

If you don’t want to wait that long, you can add vinegar essence to the solution, which will help speed up the entire soaking process, at the rate of one tablespoon of essence per liter of soap mixture. Then you need to boil the handles in the solution for five minutes. Remember to take precautions to prevent this mixture from coming into contact with the skin of your hands. The best solution would be rubber gloves, which will completely prevent the possibility of a chemical burn. After the boiled handles have cooled, any dirt can be easily removed with a household sponge.

The question is much more complicated if the handles on the stove are not removable. But even in this case, you can find a way out and clean them at home. To do this, you should use available tools that can easily penetrate even hard-to-reach places. These include toothpicks, cotton swabs and toothbrushes. First, you need to soak the handles a little; to do this, you will have to apply baking soda to them with a damp sponge. Moreover, if the stains are persistent, then it is best to take soda ash. After this, use cotton swabs and a toothbrush to apply ammonia for contamination in hard-to-reach places. After waiting a quarter of an hour, you can continue washing the handles.

Cleaning the gas stove oven

  1. First, you need to remove surface dirt; to do this, wipe the inner walls of the oven with paper napkins and apply a solution of laundry soap on them, leaving it for a quarter of an hour.
  2. Take a baking tray and pour the prepared soap mixture into it. Then put it in the oven for half an hour at temperature conditions 120-150 °C.
  3. Wipe off any dirt from the oven walls with a soft, damp cloth.
  4. If the dirt is not completely removed, you can apply another effective method. Moisten the moistened walls with a mixture of soda and citric acid. After a quarter of an hour, simply rinse the solution from the surfaces with a sponge.
  5. Ammonia is a great way to clean the oven from grease and carbon deposits. It is necessary to moisten the walls with it and leave it overnight. After this, you just need to rinse everything off with warm water.
  6. A specially prepared paste of soda, salt and regular warm water. It should also be applied to the walls and left for ten hours. You will be amazed at the results when you start washing away the dirt.
  7. You can simply apply table salt to the oven walls in a thick layer and set at 150°C. After thirty minutes, turn off the oven and let it cool for a while. After that, all that remains is to simply sweep away the loose dirt.

Now you know how and with what to clean a gas stove at home. Each of the described methods helps you quickly and without financial costs wash and get rid of almost any dirt on your gas stove, which will again shine like new.
