If a step-by-step path is made before laying the lawn, then in those places where the lawn will be between the stumps of the path, add 8 cm less soil.

A path made from boards is prepared in the same way as a garden path from tree cuts, only the boards are laid vertically.

The second reason is that Euro pallets are made from fairly durable types of wood (pine, birch, aspen), which have a relatively high durability, especially if they are opened with protective ones.

Well, the third reason is that Euro pallets consist of bars and boards that have a length/width/thickness suitable for garden paths (standard sizes are 800*1200*145 mm or 1000*1200*145 mm). All you need to do is disassemble the pallet and cut the boards into suitable lengths.

First of all, we use wooden blocks from which we create logs for wooden flooring. In increments of 50 cm along the entire length of the logs, which are fastened together lengthwise, we cut in bars of the same cross section(to strengthen the structure). The fastening method is shown in the picture:

After this, it is recommended to additionally cover the finished frame of the wooden garden path with bitumen mastic, which, like an antiseptic, will protect the wood from premature rotting.

We cut the wooden boards to the width of the frame (and, as we agreed, it will be 50 cm) and open it on one side with mastic. The exposed side will be located between the flooring and the ground surface (bottom of the wooden walkway).

Now we begin to cover the frame with boards. In order to ensure rapid drainage of water from the path, leave small gaps between the boards (from 1 to 2 cm). The nails must be sunk as deeply as possible into the boards, because the nail heads can injure your feet if you walk barefoot along a wooden garden path.

When the track of Euro pallets is completely covered, we open it with paint suitable color and wait until it dries, after which you can immediately start walking along the wooden garden path you made with your own hands.

We recommend that you consider the small but helpful advice: before installing flooring logs on the soil, protect it from weeds with herbicides or “agrospan” and then weeds will not grow through the gaps between the boards, worsening the appearance of the garden path.
