DIY spiral slide for children. Do-it-yourself children's slide at your summer cottage. Creating a floor covering on the upper platform

Children carry a powerful charge of energy, so a playground is an indispensable attribute of any summer cottage where children visit.

Absolutely any number of entertainment items can be installed on the site. It all depends on the financial capabilities and wishes of the owners.

You can also please your children by doing some entertainment with my own hands. As an example, a children's slide. Absolutely simple to construct, and will delight you for many years if you take the process seriously.

The process of creating a slide and final result will serve as an additional source of joy at minimal cost. A children's slide at the dacha will be the best entertainment for children.

Wooden slide

Such a building can even be placed inside the house, if the size of your area allows it. When building a slide, it is important to remember that you need to use environmentally friendly raw materials, since the child will be in direct contact with it. A children's slide made of wood is best suited for such entertainment.

But if you decide to build from other materials, then make sure that there are no harmful components.
This also applies to the bright colors that are usually used to decorate the slide.

It is important to monitor such inserts both for the content of harmful substances and for resistance to fire.

Install strong railings regardless of your child's age. In any case, this will protect you from unwanted injuries and falls. The railing will also act as a support for the child’s balance.

Wooden slide safety

A children's wooden slide should first of all be a safe object for play. It will fit perfectly into any exterior and interior of the house thanks to its calm style decision. It will not be the first to catch your eye, but will only emphasize the previously created style.

In the summer, in the sun, a wooden slide heats up slowly, without burning the child on contact, like, for example, slides made of metal. This is a big plus when children often play outside.

Such a slide can be installed anywhere on the site, and not just where there is always shade and coolness. The child will get burned on the metal, and the wood will only become warm in direct sunlight.

Even if a plastic outdoor slide is more convenient, its weak frame will not serve you for long. It will crack, and the child may get injured from riding such a slide.

Location of the slide on the site

The slide must be located away from extraneous buildings and trees. This precaution will not be superfluous, because it will make your baby’s games more comfortable.

You can also dot the perimeter around the slide with grass or cover it with a special artificial turf. The descent from the slide will be softer in the future and the child has a minimum chance of falling.

The base is best secured or concreted. Even if the child cannot move the structure with his own hands, then from frequent rolling it may itself tip over.

The height of the structure should depend on the age of the child. It is advisable not to exceed more than 2 times the height of the person who will use it. There should be no cracks, openings or holes in the structure.

Take this seriously, as children, while actively moving, do not notice small obstacles. The child may get caught or stuck.

DIY slide

If you are interested in the question of how to make a high-quality children's slide with your own hands, then you need to follow all these tips. Then the child, while riding down the slide, will be completely safe and will remain without unwanted injuries.

Note!

If we are talking about a wooden structure, then you can develop drawings for a children's slide yourself. Choose the color, texture and even shape at your own request or use an already ready photo children's slide to complete the picture.

The materials you will need are nails, boards, slats and wooden beams. Also make sure you have a hammer, saw and plane. These are the most basic tools for the job.

You can simplify your construction using a hand or electric drill. When assembling the structure, carefully check that there are no nails sticking out anywhere.

The stingray may be from plastic material. After all, over time, a wooden slope can develop clues if it is not treated with anything.

But with metal slide everything is much harder. Here you will already need a machine for welding metal. If you decide to make the slope metal, then paint it with a special paint that will not allow it to heat up quickly.

Note!

In the courtyard country house or at personal plot dachas best entertainment There will be a playground with a slide for children. You can make a children's slide with your own hands. The main thing is to know what materials and tools you will need, and to draw up a competent project plan. After all, there are many combinations: with a steep and sloping descent, with carved decorations, additional play areas, etc. Such entertainment will appeal to children aged from two to eight years.

Types of children's slides

Construction and children's stores offer a wide range of ready-made outdoor and indoor slides for children. Small structures are suitable for installation inside the house, if the height of the ceilings of the home allows this. But bulky slopes are more suitable for the street. Each model has its own design features, and differs in materials of manufacture:

The last option is best for self-made and installations on summer cottage or in the courtyard of a private house, due to the availability of material, the possibility quick repair or replacing broken parts. In order to repair or install a wooden slide with your own hands, you do not need to call specialists, use welding, etc.

A set of necessary tools

For the manufacture of wooden slide for children at the dacha you will need a fairly large set with your own hands professional tool. Some tools are sure to be found in every man’s garage or attic; something will have to be purchased or borrowed, for example, from a friend or neighbor. To make a children's slide from wood You will need the following tools:

Armed necessary tool, you can start designing a future entertainment area and purchasing materials for making a ramp.

Creating a Project

Nowadays you can find a lot of ready-made drawings, diagrams, and 3D projects on the Internet, so you don’t have to “reinvent the wheel” yourself. Volumetric models with detailed instructions installation and list necessary materials will help you create designs for children of all ages. They may differ in the material for the descent, the type of stairs, supporting structures, height, etc. When developing a project for a children's slide made of wood The following factors should be taken into account:

In addition, the dimensions of the structure are taken into account, which will help to correctly calculate the width of the ramp and the angle of inclination of the trigger element. When making a wooden slide at the dacha with your own hands, you should take into account the child’s opinion and his wishes.

Materials required for construction

Of course, the dimensions and quantity of materials that will be used to create supports, stiffeners, railings, upper railings, steps and other elements directly depend on the dimensions of the homemade wooden slide for children. These details are clarified when choosing a play area project. To understand what materials may be needed, as well as what the installation and construction process will be, we took as an example a project for a children's slide with a slope of 3 meters and an upper platform of 50*50 cm.

List of building materials:

Additional building elements for fastening - these are galvanized screws and anchors. If you need to improve the string of the stairs, then you should stock up on additional lumber.

Construction stages

The process of building a durable slide for children can be divided into several stages. This includes preparation (of materials and installation location), installation of playground supports, flooring, production of a ramp, stairs and safety structures. All these steps are important, poorly executed installation work, can reduce the operational life of the entire structure, as well as reduce the safety of use.

Preparing materials and space for the slide

First of all, you need to take care of the quality of the wood. It must be well dried, this will help to avoid deformation of the bars when using the slide.

This is followed by the stage of processing the lumber with an electric planer, which will allow you to quickly get rid of wood knots and nicks. After this, you will need to sand the wood and round the chamfers. The lower part of the beams is treated with a moisture-resistant material that prevents the wood from rotting, for example, resin or waterproofing mastic.

After this, you can begin to prepare a place for a children's wooden slide. Land plot will need to be well leveled, and then mark the areas where the supporting elements will be installed. The depth of the holes in the corners of the square should be at least half a meter. The lower part of the recesses is covered with crushed stone and sand.

Installation of supports and floor

The support beams are securely installed in the prepared location and then concreted. The structure can be strengthened using a “bundle”. To do this, small cuts-grooves of 2 cm are made in the racks, and a planed board is inserted into them, connecting the supporting elements to each other. Large screws or self-tapping screws are used as fastenings.

After the supports are installed, it is time to begin installing the floor of the top deck of the slide. Wooden bars of stiffeners are laid parallel to each other, followed by laying floor boards. It is worth taking care in advance to ensure that there is no accumulation of rainwater, for this purpose a small gap (5-7 millimeters) is left between the boards.

Making the escapement

If a factory-made plastic ramp is used in the construction of a slide for children, then its installation will not take much time; you just need to screw it to the finished structure. When using lumber, the floorboards are fastened together, and wooden railings are mounted along them.

The floor of the upper platform is attached to the slope in several ways: by forming an acute angle ( optimal inclination equal to 45 o) or cutting out grooves. Important point, this is stripping the wood that forms the descent; it must be perfectly smooth. After sanding, the surface of the slope is coated with varnish or special paint.

To make a ramp, you can choose other materials, for example, slippery plastic sheet, galvanized steel, durable plywood, thick linoleum. Any of this material is applied to a wooden slide, which improves the sliding process as a child slides down the slide. To reduce the risk of injury to the children's slide, any irregularities and places where screws are attached are sanded and coated with special paints.

Installation of stairs and railings

The landing of a wooden slide built with your own hands must consist of at least several steps. The type of construction is selected individually; the ladder can be installed on a stringer or bowstring. How younger child, for which yard entertainment is being made, the smaller the march of steps should be. After this, you can begin attaching the fences, the size and height of which directly depends on the dimensions of the structure and the age of the children.

After installing a children's wooden slide, it is recommended to take care of the safety of the children who will ride on it. It is necessary to arrange the landing area by decorating this place with a sand mound or a soft sports mat. You need to take care in advance to clear the space from thorny bushes, stones, pipes, etc. Periodically checking the structure for dried boards, especially after winter, will help avoid unwanted childhood injuries. This slide goes well with other play elements made with your own hands, for example, benches and sandboxes.

Children have always loved and still love to ride on carousels and swings. Now these children's structures are manufactured on an industrial scale. They can be purchased at many retail outlets. But some of them can be built on our own. In this article we will look at how to make a children's slide.

Construction requirements

The territory of a country house is a great place to install a children's slide. Making one for children is not very difficult if you follow certain rules:

  • The age of the children does not at all affect the fact that the design should provide for such required elements like fencing and railings. While playing, the child becomes inattentive and may fall from a height, and these elements will help him maintain his balance.
  • For the construction of the building, you need to use only environmentally friendly materials that will be harmless to children's health. It is prohibited to use structural elements that are easily flammable.
  • When building a children's slide for a summer residence, it is preferable wooden materials. Metal structures are generally no worse than wooden ones, but have some disadvantages. We must not forget that for children the most active time of the year is summer with the burning rays of the sun. To prevent children from getting burned on very hot metal, a structure made of this material will have to be placed in a shaded area. The wooden structure can be placed in any convenient place. There are also plastic slides, but their material is not very durable and can crack at any time. In addition, such designs are widely presented in stores, so it makes no sense to make them yourself.

The slide must be designed in such a way that it is primarily safe for children. The children's structure should have no slotted partitions or dangerous gaps, since children, in the heat of play, can insert any part of their body into the existing hole and be seriously injured when descending. All details must be calculated down to the smallest detail, otherwise unforeseen troubles may occur.

Manufacturing process

  • To build a children's slide, the first thing you need to do is build a slide. It is made from several boards, which must be the same in width and length. The wooden base must be carefully sanded so that children can descend comfortably and safely. The boards are connected to each other with several bars on the bottom side.
  • After the descent is constructed, it is time to attach the side structural parts to it. As work progresses, it is necessary to determine the height of the structure that children will climb and the angle of inclination of the ramp. Factory-made slides have standard sizes: 1.3 m – height, 55º – angle of inclination. These parameters must also be adhered to when building a homemade structure. The side boards should be of such length that their ends extend to the top of the platform and serve as a kind of handrail for grasping before descending. The side boards are attached on both sides to the base of the slope using self-tapping screws. The sides, as well as the escapement, must be well sanded, sharp corners cut off and smoothed with sandpaper or an angle grinder grinding wheel. These safety measures will prevent children from getting injured while playing.
  • After the descent is ready, markings are made for the children's structure. Using a garden drill, holes are made in the ground into which beams are installed, the ends of which are coated with mastic on the bottom side. It will not allow the tree to rot quickly. After this, the installation site of the beams is filled with concrete.
  • In the upper part of the beams, using a saw, grooves are cut out with such a depth and width so that strapping strips can be inserted into the racks without any problems. These wooden elements are connected to the beams using self-tapping screws. The strapping strips will perform 2 functions simultaneously. Firstly, they will make the structure of the children's slide more rigid and stable. Secondly, they will play a role protective fence. Children will feel safe on the playground.
  • 2 more wooden crossbars are attached to the resulting frame structure. A ladder will be attached to them on one side, and a ready-made descent on the other. Then comes the turn of installing a wooden floor, which is constructed from boards using self-tapping screws. Small gaps are left between the floor boards to allow water to escape during and after rainfall. For greater strength, the joints of wooden structures are fastened with metal corners.

The children's slide has been completed, and children will now be able to enjoy their free time.

People who have own dacha, they know firsthand what it is good vacation. After all, a dacha far outside the city, where there is clean air, peace, and most importantly, no city bustle, which is so annoying on weekdays, is a great place to relax and enjoy it to the fullest. For a child, rest is first and foremost a game, and a do-it-yourself playground for a summer cottage would be a good idea. The dacha is truly an excellent place to build an impromptu playground; the place is remote and safe for these purposes, and most importantly, spacious.

Marking the space for the site

The creation of a children's playground should begin with the most important thing, with the selection of a more suitable site for it. Of course, you should choose wisely, and first of all take into account the safety of children. For these purposes, it is worth excluding from possible those areas where there is already a pond, or where there is simply a fence with barbed wire or sharp spikes. In addition, on playgrounds There should be enough light for children.

It is advisable to choose a place where there will be more light in the morning, when the children are full of energy and want to play, and closer to noon the sun will stop covering the playground, and the children will not suffer from the annoying heat.

But the site should not be completely immersed in the shadow, because open area You can place a small pool under the sun and somehow protect it from the rest of the site. Under the sun, the water in the pool will warm up faster, which is quite convenient and effective.

The improvised diagram cleverly marks out the place where the adults are located and at the same time they have a full view of the site itself. it's the same important point markings, because we should not forget that children must be supervised so that if something happens, adults can protect them from a potential threat or some kind of “unsuccessful” game.

It is important to take into account the visibility factor, and position the playground structures so that they fit into this overview and, as a result, children remain visible.

Sizing and Layout

The nuances of preparing the territory include such a moment as the size of the territory itself. They should be selected and adjusted carefully and wisely, because this is important not only for the children themselves, but also for you. Obviously, building such a site is far from simple. You will make your task much easier if you are able to plan and place all the necessary objects in a relatively small area, at the same time saving time and space, and creating a cozy, compact corner for children. This option is much better than building a large playground that children still won’t be able to occupy all of.

As a rule, for children under 7 years old, a playground measuring 8-9 square meters will be optimal; for older children, up to 12 years old, accordingly, more space is needed, because their desires and preferences change, the playground should expand to about 15 square meters.

It would be easier and smarter to build a playground, so to speak, for growth, leaving a few meters in reserve when marking, which, by the way, will come in handy when the child gets older.

After the place has finally been chosen, it should be, so to speak, processed, everything should be done to ensure that the presence on the site, and on the “attractions” themselves, is not only safe for children, but pleasant and fun. You should start with the foundation, as in any work, it is important in structures on the site. All supports of swings, houses, slides that will fill the playground must be tightly secured. To do this, the parts of the playground must be deepened into the ground by about 50 centimeters. Of course, you should base it on your situations, because they vary, but there are universal measurements and various rules that will help you do the job more professionally. In addition, after the parts are firmly seated in the ground, they should be secured by concreting, that is, pouring concrete into the supports so that the swings, slides and houses do not tip over and harm the children.

As for the individual elements of the playground, for each entertainment there is a certain standard and a certain device that should be followed.

When installing a swing, leave a space of 2 or more meters behind and in front of it. This is the so-called security zone, and it must be free.

Playground covering

There is one more point left, no less important than all the previous ones, safety and comfort, this is the surface of the site. The materials used to cover the play space deserve special attention when discussing and planning a children's recreation area. The fact is that coating affects many factors, and it is worth thinking about it.

It is necessary to take into account that, most likely, children will often fall, forgetting about control during a fun game or through negligence, or maybe deliberately jumping off a swing, sliding down a slide at high speed, running without thinking about the possibility of tripping, and eventually fall. Based on this, we can conclude that it is necessary to choose a more practical coating. Falling on something like this won't hurt, but it shouldn't be something soft like a trampoline. Such material can easily interfere with play and entertainment, since running and jumping on it is uncomfortable. There is a trampoline specifically for these purposes, which, by the way, can also be installed separately on the site.

It must also be either moisture-resistant, contain elements, or consist entirely of a material that dries relatively quickly. This is necessary so that the surface does not accumulate dampness and moisture, from which children can catch a cold the next time they play because they lie on such a surface longer than necessary. It's no secret that children, especially small ones, love to just lie down or crawl on the ground. Therefore, the playground, namely its covering, should do a good job of protecting the child, preventing him from freezing or damaging his knees in the event of a hard fall.

In general, the rubber coating perfectly meets all these requirements, however, its first disadvantage is the price, the second is its purpose. This kind of covering is quite expensive, but in addition, it is not particularly suitable for the area that will be located for a summer residence. After all, at the dacha you don’t really want to observe the synthetics of the city; you want something that will pleasantly combine with the dacha motif - like, for example, a lawn. Using reliable varieties of grass, such coverage is not difficult to provide, however, in the area where the slides and swings are located, it is advisable to add or completely fill only sand, which, as mentioned earlier, will easily soften the impacts and falls that often occur in such places.

As a result, you need to remember and take into account:

  1. Size of territory. (do not measure out too large an area).
  2. Nearby structures (whether anything interferes with the construction or not).
  3. Child safety.
  4. Site covering (ground).

Cleaning up the area

The final stage of marking will be cleaning or searching for the neatest area that will not have, or will have as little as possible, dangerous and inconvenient stones, hummocks, snags, and similar objects that could interfere with the construction of the playground or your children’s play.

After the location has been selected, it is necessary to begin the clearing itself. First, completely level the territory, remove all kinds of mounds and hummocks. Then rid the area of large stones, cobblestones, sharp roots protruding from the ground, and other small debris that can also interfere or cause harm in any way.

Clean up and pay attention to:

  • large and medium-sized stones and cobblestones;
  • roots and driftwood;
  • mounds and hummocks;
  • other small debris.

Arrangement

There will probably also be a lot of wood elements on your site, this is a very serious point, since all this wood and parts from it should be carefully polished, and ideally they should be coated with a non-toxic varnish. This way they will look fresh and pleasant, and most importantly, this procedure helps eliminate the risk of introducing a splinter or any other undesirable consequence.

Next, you need to take into account the fact that when creating a playground and installing a swing, metal fastenings, because such a design cannot be done without metal. This metal must be of particularly high quality and very durable. It must necessarily hold all the parts together. When erecting such a playground, you should under no circumstances skimp on such trifles, since during play, the children’s health will be supported precisely by such metal suspensions, and the more reliable they are, the more reliable protection for their own health.

After installing metal or any other parts, you must remember to check them all at least once every six months. Any tool, any mechanism tends to wear out, no matter how durable and reliable it is. You will have to change, if necessary, and, if possible, lubricate and “care” for all these capricious materials.

After the final marking and cleaning of the territory, when everything has already been firmly marked and decided, you can finally think about how to equip the future corner of fun. And here there are really a lot of options, you can choose any kind of entertainment, and the child will like it, it’s something new, and most importantly, something of his own, which will definitely bring pleasure. You can build an entire children's playground with your own hands.

Selecting components for the site

Whatever you decide to choose for a playground, it’s also worth thinking about the fact that to begin with, you can create the entire ambiance of the entertainment area from ready-made objects. Here we will move on to specifics, and immediately remember about the trampoline; a trampoline is really something that will make any child rejoice and be distracted for a long time. And it can be purchased at a very affordable price on the market or in a specialized store, of any shape, size, and most importantly, quality.

In addition, you can install a children's basketball hoop on the court; it can also easily arouse the interest of the kids, and they will happily try to throw the ball provided to them there, while still no threat appears.

A trampoline and rings are of course great, but the entertainment and options for arrangement and choice are not over yet, because we did not take into account the most obvious and acceptable option. We are talking about a swimming pool, a children's pool, an inflatable one, of course. It can also be purchased ready-made, and it will also delight your children when they splash around in it on a hot day and are in a good mood.

An excellent option that will not require much time to install and purchase is a tent, or a house-tent, whatever you like, but the degree of comfort will not change. This will be a great addition to everything that is already on the playground.

Children's house

We all loved in childhood, as children love, and now, having your own house, building it from pillows and blankets, save your children from such torment and install a tent in an area full of fresh air, in which they will spend their holidays with great pleasure. time and rest.

Just next to the tent, or somewhere else on the site, there is an option to install some kind of small table and bench. Children could also relax behind it, just like adults who are watching the game at this time. A table will never be out of place in such a place, a bench - especially after a long game, you just want everyone to sit next to each other and discuss something, or take a breath.

Well, the last object that can be installed without outside help is a slide, an ordinary one, plastic, as is usually the case - a slide, a safe descent from which will give children a lot of pleasure and laughter, and this is the main thing on a playground.

The advantage of all these things is mobility, since you don’t have to spend time on installation, repairs and other little things, the object is simply installed, and the children enjoy the game. All these elements are compact, will fit perfectly into the size of the playground, and will appeal to children. The only thing you need to consider is how to position all these attractions and tents correctly. After all, it would be illogical if the slide is located at the table and the children, sliding down, hit each other. And an even more logical solution would be to think in advance which objects are worth installing and which are not needed at all. Of course, all this needs to be discussed with the owners of the site themselves - the children.

Homemade buildings and installations

There are times when you want to modify something or build something from the very beginning with your own hands. For example, a sandbox, or any other of the objects that were given as an example above, can be made to your taste. For such cases, you will already need explanations, advice, and, of course, drawings.

Sandbox

And again, the most popular thing that can be placed on a playground is a sandbox; all children undoubtedly love it. There will be a lot of joy and benefits, and at the same time, a very small amount of effort and material will be spent on its construction.

It is best to make a sandbox from boards or logs; there is also the option of using stumps, which may take root on the site and serve as an excellent original decor.

The following is an example sandbox installation diagram:

The installation begins by digging out the ground in the place where it will be located 30 centimeters and filling the bottom with pebbles or crushed stone - a drainage material. The sandbox should also not be designed to be large; 150-200 centimeters is enough.

It is very important to make some kind of canopy or just a cover for the sandbox so that animals do not enter it at night and do not use it as a toilet, and besides, in case of rain, the sand will remain dry.

The same purchased tent can be replaced with a homemade children's house. This is an excellent choice for a homemade structure, because every child wants to have their own territory, and such a cozy, modest house will fulfill the desire of any child. Of course, it needs to be built from wood. The frame will be made of wood, and it should be covered with thick fabric.

Slide

The most suitable extension to the house would be a homemade slide. Great entertainment that will bring joy to any child. But this design is one of the most complex. There are also many factors to keep in mind when installing a slide. The main thing, of course, will be the height, which should not exceed 3 meters in height, and if the children are very small, then best option for them - 1.5 meters. The steps on the stairs should be extremely wide, and preferably covered with something that will prevent children from slipping off them if the steps get wet, for example, during rain.

We must not forget about the railings, or handrails, which should be located along the entire staircase so that the child can hold on and not fall, and at the top of the slide it would not hurt to additionally fence it with railings and make the area in front of the ramp more spacious.

The most difficult thing in this design is to install a slope, which, of course, can be made from plywood, fastened in layers and coated with varnish, but it will still not be as effective as buying a plastic slope and installing it on a prepared ladder.

Or you can make it even more interesting and buy a spiral ramp, which will bring even more pleasure than a direct descent. But the main thing is to correctly create a ladder and a platform on which the child will confidently stand.

Video instructions for making a wooden slide

Swing

In addition to the slide, the most ordinary swing can be an excellent and fun entertainment, which brings us joy at any age. But now we need them precisely on the site, which we are building entirely ourselves.

The first thing you need to do to install a swing is to choose a spacious place, because you need to take into account the deviation of the swing, and in both directions, as was said at the very beginning, a distance of 2 meters behind and in front of the swing should be spacious and empty.

It is clear that a strong branch on some tree on, or at least close to, the site is best suited for this purpose. It will be easy to attach ropes to it, which can easily support children.

We will design the swing ourselves. For this we will need the following materials:

  • board or boards for sitting;
  • two hooks or carabiners of some kind;
  • strong cable (rope).

If there is no tree, then you can use homemade fastenings. In order to build such a frame we will need:

  1. Two racks made of wood, thicker, 3 meters long.
  2. The crossbar of the same diameter is 1.5 meters long.

The final design will look like this:

We have probably described almost all models of objects and entertainment that you can fit on the playground with your own hands. Purchased houses, homemade ones made of wood, slides and sandboxes, swings and basketball hoops. You can make all this yourself or purchase it in a special store, and it would seem that what else can be placed and added to this list.

Sports wall

A great solution would be a climbing wall for children, on which they will climb with pleasure, try, and enjoy the process. The most important thing is that such a wall, in addition to joy, brings great benefits to children, it develops them physically, improves coordination and dexterity, but for this you need to install such a wall correctly.

First you need to prepare hooks that will be attached to the wall using screws or nails. They can be made from anything that comes to hand, but they must be comfortable, you can also buy them in a specialized store, but if we design everything ourselves, we can use gypsum, which can be mixed with quartz sand for strength. This mixture is easy to shape, and we can make any grip we want.

Then it is worth fastening them in a random or more or less planned order on our wall, it can be made of wood, but this will take a lot of time, and this method will be impractical; it is easier to fasten ready-made hooks to a real tree in the garden, along which children can climb. Or attach them to the wall of the house, but not too many and high, so that when they reach a certain level, the children cannot climb further and go down.

It is important to choose the right surface on which they will land; it should be something soft, so that in the event of any fall or unintended fall, the children do not damage themselves, even if the height is small, the child should not be scared, but should be confident in your actions.

This is the kind of children's play complex we got for our dacha. This is where the article comes to an end, but now you know how you can plan and make a children’s playground in your country house with your own hands. You have an idea of what kind of entertainment can be prepared for children, and most importantly, how to do it easier and more profitable. We hope the kids will be happy and will definitely thank you for the wonderful playground.

Setting up a playground is impossible without a slide. But you need to choose the design very carefully and take into account all the nuances. This means safety, comfort, and ease of making it yourself.

Kinds

Speaking about the types of children's slides, we must first distinguish two types: garden and located in the house. Most often, home structures are placed in the bedroom. They can be made from randomly selected materials, even plywood or particle boards. This is unacceptable on the street - the adverse meteorological influences there are too strong. But the basic approaches to design remain unchanged.

The difference may be due to the materials used to make the slide. For it they use:

  • tree;
  • metal.
  • ease of assembly;
  • minimum occupied territory;
  • possibility of obtaining various forms;
  • convenience and safety;
  • seasonal versatility.

Plastic allows you to make slopes in the form of a spiral, pipe or wave. Excellent heat capacity plastic stingray allows it not to overheat in the summer, and also maintain a comfortable temperature in the winter. The work is very simple, you just need to assemble the parts in accordance with the instructions. However, plastic is fragile, especially if we talk about cheap Chinese samples. It doesn't last long enough.

Often on site nearby apartment buildings you can see metal slides. They are very durable and serve long time. Even with active use, the attraction will work enough for several generations to use it. You can make a structure with different heights and with unequal lengths of descent.

However, before choosing such a structure for your yard, you need to take into account its weaknesses.

Metal conducts heat too well. In hot weather, it gets very hot, and when cold weather sets in, the skaters easily freeze. This can lead to bad health consequences, even if they are not noticed in the heat of the game. You also need to remember that metal requires maintenance. And if the ramp is made of steel, it may corrode.

Wood is attractive for many reasons. It is safe in environmental and sanitary terms. Wooden structures relatively light and can be placed in any location. Weather conditions do not prevent their use. But we must understand that Even the best wood can become deformed from dampness and temperature changes.

For protection it is carried out special processing. However, it complicates and increases the cost of the construction process. In addition, it is necessary to carefully select impregnation compositions, since not all of them are safe enough. But a wooden slide can be easily repaired with your own hands. And during the construction stage you will not need to use a welding machine.

The large area occupied by the slide (especially together with the descent) requires a more thoughtful approach to organizing this element of the playground. You cannot limit yourself to choosing the right material. Often the slide is complemented by a house. Not only does it become another place to play, but it also helps provide shelter from the rain in summer months. It is also worth mentioning that the types of slides differ both in the presence of the house and in the size of the structure.

Drawings and dimensions

In order to properly build a slide for children on a summer cottage, it is necessary to draw up drawings and diagrams. If the slope profile found on the Internet does not suit you, you need to turn it clockwise (to increase) or counterclockwise (to decrease) the angle. The steeper the slope, the more enjoyable it will be for children. In addition, such a design will take up less space, which is especially important in the country.

But when the slope of the slide is tilted by more than 40 degrees, careful calculations must be made so that the braking section does not turn out to be excessively long.

Typically profiles are drawn to the same scale, from bottom to top. At the same time, they try to ensure that the distances between the starting points coincide. After this, vertical secant lines are prepared, between which there should also be an identical distance. The angle of the slope is determined by how large the free space is.

If in the courtyard of the house near the descent there will be a wall, a pool or other dangerous places, you need to plan to build the steepest slide possible.

When drawing up drawings, it is necessary to take into account not only the accessible territory, but also the age of the children. So, if the design is designed for a category of 3-7 years, you can make a playing surface at a height of over 2 m. But in this case you will have to make barriers from metal, the height of which will be at least 0.7 m. If children of any age can use the slide, the openings of the fences can be a maximum of 0.5 m. In this case, the height of free fall should be limited to 2 m.

When a fall from the upper platform is likely, it is necessary to provide for the laying out of an impact-absorbing coating during the design. Drawings often do not indicate supporting structures. And also there may be no other deepening elements. The form should be as simple as possible, since it is difficult to build a structure with a sophisticated configuration. The drawing of a slide for the street should be made in such an orientation that the descent is not directed towards the roadway.

Design

At an early age, children's imagination does most of the work. It is able to “colorize” a seemingly unremarkable element on the site, presenting it as a fairy-tale space. But it is quite appropriate for some adults to want to help the imagination, to push it in a strictly defined direction. And if it is difficult to diversify the slope, then the ascent can be presented much more interestingly than a simple staircase. Excellent solutions this kind can be:

  • slide in the form of a “tractor”;
  • a house on a tree;
  • "locomotive".

How to do it yourself?

On the Internet you can easily find many schemes for arranging a children's slide. But you should seriously pay attention only to such drawings and drawings that show the barriers in detail. Children of any age play with abandon and lose their sense of reality. Therefore, both fences and railings must be present. Special attention should be paid to the materials from which the slide as a whole and even its minor parts are constructed.

There are two main requirements: sanitary safety and minimal risk of fire. All wooden and metal constructions must be sanded to minimize the risk of injury. When thinking through a future structure and constructing it, you need to exclude any slotted partitions and gaps. When playing, children do not watch where they put their fingers or even their heads. It is useful to imagine the slide through the eyes of a child, and then it will become clear where dangers may be hiding.

The step-by-step design of sports equipment begins with the preparation of the descent. It is made from boards that match in length and width. The wood is carefully sanded to ensure a safe descent. To connect the boards, bars are used, placed from below. The next step is to attach the side parts of the structure to the descent.

In order not to carefully calculate all the proportions, you can simply repeat the standard dimensions of factory slides. It is 1.3 m in height at an inclination of 55 degrees. The boards of the side parts are selected and placed so that the ends are at the top of the site. They function as handrails that you can hold on to before descending. The sides are secured on both sides with self-tapping screws so that they hold onto the base of the descent.

Important: the side parts should be thoroughly processed. All sharp corners are cut off and even sanded with sandpaper. To spend less time and effort, you can simply take a grinder with a grinding disc. Next you need to do the marking. At this point you will need a garden auger.

Recesses in the ground obtained with its help are needed for installing timber. Note: the bottom of this beam should be lubricated with mastic. Now the places where it was placed are being concreted. Only this solution ensures the reliability and stability of the structure. It is recommended to mix the mortar using M500 cement in standard proportions.

Grooves are cut in the upper part of the beams with a saw. They are needed to install the trim strips. The parts are connected using self-tapping screws. The slats solve two problems at once: they increase rigidity and ensure the safety of children. Now you need to attach a couple of wooden crossbars to the frame.

A ladder is attached to them on one side and a prepared descent on the other. When this work is completed, it is necessary to build a wooden floor. When making it, boards are laid, attaching them with self-tapping screws.

Important: boards cannot be placed closely. The gaps should be such that there is no risk of injury, but water can drain freely.

If maximum strength is needed, the joints of wooden parts are reinforced with steel corners. It is recommended to make the slide twice as long as it is tall. When choosing a site, you need to make sure that it does not end up in a lowland. When it rains for a long time, a “swamp” will form there. All wooden and plastic parts must be impregnated with fire retardants.

But the construction of a wooden slide can happen differently. Alternative scheme implies that they will first remove all the soil and level the excavation. This is necessary if there is fertile land there - then it will not be empty and will be useful somewhere else. Next, the site is covered with sand and after a while, when it settles, the entire area is compacted. This time should not be wasted, you can:

  • prepare wood;
  • dry it;
  • cut according to the drawing;
  • sand;
  • impregnate with protective components.

The steps, handrails, railings and boards that will be needed to build the “tunnel” are painted twice with enamel. They need to be sanded between paintings. On this preparatory stage ends. The time has come to build the foundation: reinforcement is placed in the holes prepared using a garden auger. It will certainly be verified according to the building level.

When the reinforcement is placed, it is immediately concreted, and the corners are welded on top. The pillars that will be placed at the base must be sawed in certain places. These recesses will allow you to fix the timber at the corners with self-tapping screws. Next, the pillars are connected to each other using jibs. The staircase is made like this: stringers are attached, and then steps are placed on top of them.

But the ladder cannot be used normally if it is not supplemented with a launching pad. When this work is completed, it is necessary to prepare the base of the descent (it is made of timber). A steel curved profile for the slope is installed. A plywood shield is placed on top of the base under the slope. A sheet of iron is nailed onto this shield.

The outer edges of the sheet are folded and secured to the profile. Otherwise, injuries are inevitable. Now you can cut gaps in the boards and wrap the edges of the sheet there. A boardwalk is being prepared under the ramp. The sides are covered with plywood. Now you can:

  • put up the sides;
  • complement the stairs with railings;
  • build hipped roof, cover it on top with plywood.
  • sheet of plastic;
  • linoleum;
  • galvanized steel 0.05 cm thick.

It is not advisable to use laminate for slopes. Under constant load or simply upon contact with water, it is easily deformed. And here are some more recommendations:

  • You can increase the protection of wood from moisture by polishing it with wax;
  • for covering a wooden slide Oil paint much worse acrylic compositions and varnish;
  • you can’t place a slide near poisonous plants and honey plants;
  • you must immediately ensure that there are no pipes or electrical appliances nearby;
  • You cannot orient the slope towards the roadway, fence or main wall.

Beautiful examples

It would take a long time to list the rules for building slides and study the nuances. But it is much better to take the initiative and focus on ready-made design ideas. The photo below shows a simple light-colored slide built almost entirely from wood. Only the surface of the slope is laid out sheet iron. At the same time, the protective sides are completely wooden. Contrary to the fears of some people, this decision does not look sad at all.

But you can also make a multi-colored colorful design, even complemented by a rather long transition between ascent and descent. A couple of tent buildings provide shelter from not too heavy rain. There is an even simpler option, in which the entire surface is made of wood. This design should be chosen when only functionality is needed, and not a bright appearance.
