What is the most effective antiseptic for a frame house?

For most Ukrainians frame technology I'm still too young to give her the respect she deserves. So far it raises many doubts, questions, rumors and legends. Where these legends come from, what is true and what is fiction in them, we will look at in this series of articles.

In this article we will tell you whether frame houses are really short-lived due to rotting of the frame.

Rotting elements frame house and as a result, its fragility can only be caused by moisture that accumulates inside the wall or roofing pie and does not evaporate. How it can end up there, and what needs to be done to prevent it from being there, we will consider in more detail.

Moisture can penetrate your walls from inside the house, from the outside, or from damp wood.

1. Completely dried frame house elements

If the wood used for a frame house was not dried, freshly cut, or if it got wet during construction, it will continue to dry out inside your wall or roof pie. The moisture that such wood evaporates will be hermetically sealed from the inside and outside walls. She will have nowhere to go out, she will remain inside, and under her influence the tree will gradually become covered with fungus, i.e. rot and collapse prematurely. Such a frame house may indeed not survive its intended lifespan.

Therefore our company:

  • uses only dried up to 12-18% for building houses wooden beams,
  • assembles a house on the site from ready-made ones wall panels, in which wooden frame And mineral wool securely covered with OSB and plasterboard boards from rain and fog.

This significantly affects the reliability and durability of your home.

2. Sealing the house from the inside

To prevent moisture from entering the wall from inside the house and gradually accumulating in the wall, it is necessary to properly seal the house from the inside.

For this purpose, the Profikarkas company:

  • Closes everything external walls from the inside with a vapor barrier. Vapor barrier is an obligatory layer of our wall cake.
  • Ensures proper sealing of the floor slab and upper floor slab
  • Ensures tightness of the joints of the wall vapor barrier with the floor slab vapor barrier and with the floor vapor barrier.

If the vapor barrier of walls, floors and ceilings is carried out with technological violations, there is indeed a risk that moisture will gradually accumulate in the wall, prematurely destroying both the insulation and the wood.

3. Ensuring moisture resistance from the outside.

Now that the carefully dried elements of the frame have been reliably sealed from moisture from the inside, she has one last chance: to get to our house from the outside. To prevent this we:

  • We use OSB boards High Quality, which are guaranteed to have high water-repellent properties.
  • We use high-quality facade finishing, which will protect themselves for a long time and reliably OSB boards, their joints from exposure to ultraviolet radiation and heavy rains.
  • We competently provide roof ventilation, which will allow any moisture to quickly evaporate without lingering in the roofing pie.

If in frame house facade and roofing work was carried out with errors; over time, the house can quickly collapse under the influence of moisture that has penetrated inside the wall or roof.

4. Additional guarantee: wood antiseptic

All of the above measures to protect wood from moisture are sufficient. But our national DBN strongly recommend treating all wood with an antiseptic to prevent the appearance of fungus.

Our company fulfills this requirement: all wooden elements of walls and roofs, even before the frame of the house is manufactured, are treated with an environmentally friendly antiseptic. Processing occurs most efficiently submersible method: wooden beams are immersed in a vat of solution, and after drying they are put to work.

Be careful!

Be sure to take into account that such a feature as the accumulation of moisture inside the walls of the house will not manifest itself in the first months. You can live in your house for several years without suspecting anything, the damaged wood will not be visible!!! The fact that something is wrong with the house can be understood only because it becomes colder and spots of mold appear on the walls and ceiling. Over time, having discovered defects in wood, it will be almost impossible to compensate for the damage in court.

Therefore, before you give builders money to build your house, make sure that all the technological requirements for constructing a frame house will be met exactly! How to choose a reliable one construction company we wrote.

P.S. To confirm the fact that frame houses can serve faithfully for about 100 years, we wrote here. Here are examples of real houses built 100 years ago and still in use today!

What is the most effective antiseptic for a frame house (for interior and exterior work)? And will it be necessary to apply some other product afterwards, such as varnish, or will an antiseptic be sufficient for protection? Thank you.

Answer to the question

Primary colors Pinotex Classic

I have already answered similar questions several times (read the articles "" and ""). There are currently a great variety of antiseptics, so you have a wide choice. Can be done. It is impossible to name the most effective antiseptic, because... Different substances have been specially developed for different surfaces. Likewise for a frame house it is necessary for interior work use some antiseptics, and others for external work. Let's look at some of them.

  1. Antiseptics from the Akzo Nobel concern - Pinotex. They have enjoyed a well-deserved reputation for over 50 years. Have big choice antiseptics with a wide palette of colors. For external work it is better to use Pinotex Classic, for internal work - Pinotex Interior, for street conditions with exposure to water and snow - Pinotex Wood Oil.
  2. Antiseptics "Senezh". Popular since Soviet times. Application various types shown in the second picture. Resistance to leaching occurs within 3–5 days. The most stable product is "Senezh". For bioprotection against fire, Senezh Ognebio has proven itself well. Chemically bonds to wood. Apply 2 - 3 layers to the wood at intervals of 30 minutes.
  3. Antiseptics of the Niomid family. Designed for long-term preservation of wood. It is best to use Niomid 440 when blue stains appear on the wood. There is also a fire retardant "Niomid 530". Antiseptics have fairly reasonable prices.

The use of protective equipment Senezh during the construction of a house

You can also name quite a few manufacturers. But general advice: Whatever antiseptic you use is better than leaving the wood unprotected. And the second tip: The best way Wood impregnation involves completely immersing the wood in a solution for several hours. If you can't do it by immersion, apply 2 - 3 layers of protectant. You can apply it with a roller or brush, but it’s better to use a spray bottle - it will fill the antiseptic into all the cracks. There are antiseptics that do not form a film, and film-forming agents. It is advisable to first impregnate with aqueous solutions so that they penetrate deep inside, and then apply a film-forming protective agent. It is imperative to take antiseptics from the same manufacturer. Do I still need to coat it with varnish? This is up to your choice, but for purely decorative purposes.

The main thing: take antiseptics only from well-known manufacturers and in specialized construction stores. Let it be a little more expensive. But you don’t build for one day. The fact is that there are a lot of fakes on the market. You won't be able to tell by looking what's in the container. And with the modern development of copying technology, printing labels is very simple. Dishonest sellers take advantage of this. Apparent savings can later turn into large expenditures of both money and effort. I always emphasize that you need to save money not on building materials, and at work, i.e. try to do as much as possible on your own. If you can’t do it on your own, hire builders, but those you can find after construction is completed. That's when all the shortcomings and mistakes come out.

Watch a video about the construction of a frame house, which clearly shows how the wood of a house frame is most often formally protected.

True, I had a lot of questions and comments about this video. The main question: how did a snowy winter turn into a warm summer in 12 days of installing a house? And the main remark: the builders’ complete disregard for safety precautions. And this is already life-threatening.

Fire and bioprotective compounds are special impregnating substances used as a means of protecting wood from biological damage and fire protection and restoration.
Fire retardants are also called fire retardants (from “anti” - resistance, and “pir” - fire) they include chemical compositions, which are capable of protecting flammable materials from fire.
Bioprotective compounds are called antiseptics (from “anti” - counteraction, and “septicos” - purulent).
Antiseptic treatment of frame timber is the process of applying it to wood. chemicals, producing a poisonous effect on biological destroyers.

Anti-perforation of frame timber consists of impregnating the lumber with a fire retardant compound. Fire retardants contain substances that, when heated, form nonflammable compounds that turn into an impermeable layer on the surface of the wood. Thanks to such protection, access to the material structure is blocked for oxygen, which creates an insurmountable obstacle to the further spread of fire.

There are several groups of antiseptics - water-soluble, organic oil-based preparations and combined antiseptics.

The most widely used are water-soluble antiseptics, which are more effective and do not contain harmful substances and are safe according to environmental standards.

Technologies of the company "DomKihot"

Our company uses leading antiseptics Russian manufacturers, the compositions of which are provided with all certificates of quality and environmental standards, and their quality is confirmed by certificates of homeowners. At your request, certificates for the composition used in the construction of your frame house can be given to you in the office or sent by email.

Before moving directly to the analysis of how important fire and bio treatment are for the design of a frame house, I would like to note that measures for protective anti-feathering and antiseptic treatment of frame timber are carried out on all houses that our company builds using the method of deep impregnation (complete immersion of the material in a special container-bath).

Activities for processing the timber of a frame house are considered by some experts to be optional, some to be preventive, and some to be mandatory. Why does such a simple question meet with so many different opinions? If you look at it, it turns out that all the above opinions have well-founded statements.

Is fire and bio protection required for the house frame? As an argument for this position, experts cite the following arguments:

It is easy to agree with this statement, because it is true, proven over centuries. And indeed, our ancestors did not possess any “dietary supplements”. From time immemorial in Rus', wooden buildings were erected that had direct contact with the external environment (and were not located in the protected frame of the house), served people for hundreds of years, and at the same time no active fire and biological protection measures were taken.

However, it is necessary to evaluate the quality of the timber they produce. After all, then only those trees were used that were chosen among the mass of others. In addition, the timber harvesting period could last up to two years, during which the wood was “dried” and only the “strongest” samples were used for construction.

The current situation in the logging market is fundamentally different. Wood is imported into the construction market, which is often developed illegally; diseased and structurally incompatible material may enter, and low-quality lumber is obtained from it. And such material can be treated endlessly with various protective substances; this will only delay the disappointing result.

Our company uses lumber from the largest European concern UPM (Finland) in construction. This lumber is harvested, stored, delivered in compliance with the European quality system, and is subjected to all necessary measures on pre-processing of harvested timber. After this, the factory undergoes chamber (technical chamber drying), the lumber is kept in drying chambers for two days.

Ultrasonic examination of wood is carried out on special lines. Having passed all the checks, the material is subjected to visual examination and only after that it is packaged and certified for the strength class of compliance - “structural material for frame house construction.”Of course, such material is not cheap, because in addition to the immediate high cost of lumber, the UPM concern, as a result of strict quality selection, does not provide all the material in a standard length of 6 m, and the batch includes both 4 and 5 meter timber. However, from the point of view of the company’s specialists, such costs are justified, because as a result, our clients receive a house made of certified high-quality and proven material, and in a situation practically complete absence in the Russian construction market frame material which you can trust, such a solution is practically the only way to build a high-quality frame house.

1. If you use dry frame timber of coniferous species, then according to the set of rules for the installation of a frame house SP31-105-2002 of the Russian Federation

1.1. The supporting structures (frame elements) of houses of this system are made from softwood lumber, dried and protected from moisture during storage.

1.2. Wooden structural elements, the bottom level of which in the design position is lower than the planning level of the ground or exceeds it by less than 250 mm, must be made of lumber treated with antiseptics in accordance with the requirements of SNiP 2.03.11. Lumber used for the manufacture of other structural elements does not require antiseptic treatment if requirement 1.1 is met.

The company’s specialists pay close attention to this document, because in the absence of SNiP* (building codes and regulations) for frame house construction in Russia (which in the construction field are of a guiding nature), SP* (set of rules) is the only regulatory document in Russia for frame house construction, although it is advisory in nature.

Indeed, if a sufficient level of quality of the material was ensured, including measures for procurement, processing, storage and transportation, and the installation was carried out taking into account the recommendations of SP*, it is not necessary to use additional measures for antiseptic material.

Of course, any house can burn down, including a house made of brick and monolithic concrete, after all, a house burns, most often from the inside, by elements interior decoration. Many have seen stone houses after the fire, these are charred buildings that in any case need to be demolished... In cases with wooden houses, fire treatment of the material significantly increases the resistance of the load-bearing structures of the house to fire.

3. Fire and biosecurity measures are temporary, because the composition protects wood for a certain and short period of time.

This statement is partly true. To please the market, almost all manufacturers of fire and bio compositions have offered a “product” that can be applied with a brush or spray gun. Such wood processing can be called processing for show, for the Customer - “you see everything is processed, everything is green or red.” In this way, only some compositions can be applied that are rarely used today, for example, “liquid glass”.

High-quality processing of lumber can only be achieved by impregnating it in special baths. For each facility of the company, along with the complete set of the house, the entire required material for the construction of such baths. The frame timber is immersed in the bath for 2 minutes, after which it is stored in a special way and work from the specified material begins two days later.

It should be noted that the manufacturer’s recommendation states that dry lumber should be immersed for 30-60 seconds, wet lumber for 3 minutes. Even though we use dry frame beam chamber drying(from a Finnish manufacturer), we instruct workers to achieve the maximum degree of impregnation of the frame structural material.

I would like to note that the widespread use in Russia of lumber natural humidity, in addition to being a gross violation of the technology of building a frame house, it negates any protective treatment, because wet forest cannot absorb fire and bio-protective composition.

If the specified conditions are met, the fire and bio protective composition will not lose its properties for many decades.

Our company’s specialists cover dry frame timber with protective compounds in full compliance with the technology.

4. A necessary condition wood damage is caused by constant moisture in the structure, which can be eliminated by organizing proper air exchange (the design of a ventilated roof and a ventilated facade).

And this statement is true, because an improperly constructed roof or wall structure can lead to the accumulation of moisture, and really no protection will help here. When building a house, it is necessary to provide the right system air exchange in the ventilation gap of the facade and roof.

Company specialists encounter such “mistakes” when we are invited to correct defects in the construction of a house by unscrupulous builders. And the Customers, such “woeful builders,” claim: “And you saved on biosecurity.”

5. Fire and bio protective compounds appeared relatively recently, and their main purpose is to serve the benefit of manufacturers and increase the cost of construction - “another unnecessary care cream.”

This is only partly true.

Indeed, when building a house from a log or timber, it is necessary to process and prepare a huge mass of material, which, with everything else, will be constantly exposed to moisture (unlike a frame house, where the wood is inside the frame structure, in dry conditions, so frame houses have unlimited lifetime). Processing such a mass of material will indeed be expensive. And indeed, the technology of frame house construction, if followed, is one of the only technologies that offers clients a house in a finished form, where nothing needs to be completed, such as insulation, processing, painting, etc.

As for processing a frame house, then load-bearing frame made of planed dry frame timber, which perfectly absorbs fire and bio composition, and since a smaller volume of lumber is used for the construction of a frame house, processing is not so expensive. The frame in the wall is dry, which means both the lights and the bio-composition will protect the house for a long time.

Fire and bio protection actually appeared quite a long time ago, back in the 30s of the last century in regulatory documents construction of the Russian Federation (USSR) of the last century, measures for antiseptic and antiperiation of responsible wooden structures.

Recently, these technologies have become much more accessible, and as a result, they have become widely used in the construction of individual residential buildings.

Answering the main question posed at the beginning of the article, the company’s specialists believe that fire and bio treatment of wooden house structures is rather a preventive measure, however, all structural frame timber used by our company is treated with combined fire and bio protective compounds.

There is only one question left to answer: when is the measure of fire and bio compositions mandatory? First of all, when building a house with damp materials, or when it is planned that the tree will be constantly in a damp environment (timber, log house, improperly constructed frame, roofing). However, it should be taken into account that under such conditions the treatment will have to be repeated periodically.

A wooden house is rightly considered best view housing based on the combination of environmental friendliness, naturalness, low heat loss and affordable cost of the material. But the tree needs special preparation to grow life cycle home and preserving the natural beauty of wood texture. So what to process wooden house, and how to properly protect the building and improve its appearance?

Reasons and purposes of wood protection

The main problems that arise during the operation of wooden houses are directly related to the natural properties of the material. In the process of preparing and carrying out the construction cycle, preliminary drying, waterproofing and thermal insulation of floors and roofs at the point of contact with chimneys and hot pipes are provided. But this is not enough. Most common reasons The deterioration of the material quality is given below.

  • Cause of the defect: Different evaporation rates through the end and side faces
  • Manifestation of the defect: Cracking, rotting of the ends of the frame.
  • Result: Deterioration in the appearance of the log house, reduction in the quality of the walls.
  • Cause of defect: Fungal infection
  • Manifestation of defect: The appearance of mold, blue discoloration, change in wood color.
  • Result: Deterioration appearance. Gray mold causes many diseases and is especially dangerous for allergy and asthma sufferers. Once white mold appears, restoring the tree is extremely difficult.
  • Cause of defect: Damage by wood-boring beetles
  • Defect manifestation: Appearance of channels with eaten away wood
  • Result: Reduced quality of structures.
  • Cause of defect: Ultraviolet rays
  • Manifestation of the defect: The wood fades and acquires a gray tint.
  • Result: The house looks shabby.
  • Cause of defect: High humidity
  • Defect manifestation: Wood rotting.
  • Result: Structural destruction, danger of ceiling and roof collapse.
  • Cause of defect: Fire hazard
  • Defect manifestation: From charring to fire.
  • Result: Partial damage to structures and up to complete destruction Houses.

All of these problems can be easily avoided with the help of antipyrite and antiseptic impregnations for wooden house, protection of buildings during the construction and repair stages.

Types of wood preservatives

Chemical means for processing wood materials are divided into two large classes:

  • Antiseptics, providing protection from moisture, damage by fungi and algae, from the development of rot, damage by wood borers, crustaceans and shell fouling.
  • Fire retardants to protect a wooden house from fire and the spread of flame during fire.

Both specialized products and complex-effect formulations are produced. Based on the type of base, a distinction is made between water-soluble (acrylate) and organic compositions. The latter can be produced on the basis of highly volatile, wax or oil compounds.

To treat the outside of a wooden house, compositions with an organic base are often used, as they are more effective and difficult to wash out. However, organic compositions may contain toxic substances, which limits their use. Acrylate-based antiseptics are safe and cheap, but often require either additional paint protection or have restrictions on use, for example, only under awnings or under siding.

According to their intended purpose, the drugs are:

  • primers(basic), providing comprehensive protection and conditions for deep penetration of decorative coatings;
  • decorative(finishing), enhancing the basic protection, protecting against fading under the sun's rays, allowing you to give the wood the desired shade or degree of shine. Suitable for treating a wooden house inside or outside, as well as for enhanced protection of wet rooms in baths and saunas.

By consistency protective agents come in liquid (ready-to-use or requiring additional dilution), paste and solid concentrates, which are diluted before use.

processing of a wooden house from the outside. Photo

Different types of drugs may be intended for one or more of the following purposes:

  • for primary preventive treatment of materials during transportation, before construction or start of operation;
  • for periodic renewal of protective impregnation after the period of active exposure has expired;
  • for treating damaged wood.

When choosing protective equipment for export products, we recommend paying attention to the compliance of the composition with international safety standards.

Means and methods of wood processing

Protection of critical structures

Types of processing:

  • primary for structures operated in conditions of active contact with soil or atmospheric moisture (lower crowns, joists and subfloors, basements, piles, pillars, wooden roofs, pediments, cladding of log houses);
  • preventative for walls and partitions;
  • medicinal for damaged surfaces.

Popular brands:

Nortex-Lux, KEDR-MV, Senezh, XM 11, Senezh Bio, KHMBB, XHS, Senezh Ecobio, "Biosept-Ultra", Drevotex.

how to treat a wooden house. Photo

Impact principle

Antiseptics for primary treatment, penetrating deeply into the wood, prevent the development of fungal diseases, mold, bacteria, woodworms, and also protect against the most dangerous enemy wooden buildings(house fungus, however, to a lesser extent than from fungal cultures of moderate rot.

Preparations of this type are difficult to wash off or indelible, and they actively act the entire time they are inside the treated structures. The service life of wooden elements can increase by 25-50 years, depending on operating conditions. When applied, the color of the wood usually changes to better control the protection process.

For walls and partitions of dry rooms, colorless antiseptics are used, usually washable. For this reason, they are usually used inside the house, but they can also be used when treating a wooden house outside as a primer for subsequent paint or varnish treatment.

Some non-washable antiseptics contribute to the rusting of ferrous metals, so carefully read the instructions if you plan to treat adjacent areas with an antiseptic. metal structures elements.

Do not work on icy or frozen wood.

Protect treated structures from moisture until the product is completely fixed in the material. Usually the time is indicated on the packaging.

Protection of log house ends

Types of processing:

Popular brands:

Woodmaster Biotor, Neomid 440, Senezh TOR, PU- Holzverfestigung.

Impact principle

Through the ends, moisture is absorbed and evaporates 10 times more intensely, which causes deformation and shrinkage cracking, which is especially severe for round timber. Protective agents form breathable coatings on the end surfaces that repel moisture from the outside and normalize the rate of evaporation. Some preparations, for example, PU-Holzverfestigung, cause deep hydrophobization of wood cells, continuing to protect the ends even after cracks appear.

The use of such treatment on the outside of a wooden house is extremely important and can significantly reduce both the number and depth of end cracks. Especially critical structures should be treated inside the house. The products are applied to the surface with rollers, brushes or sprayers once or in several layers with intermediate drying (determined by the properties of the end surface). Products are available in oil (wax) or water based.

how to treat the ends of a log house. Photo

For decreasing total flow choose oil-wax products.

If the ends are already cracked or rotting, then select a deep penetration product that can protect the damaged wood.

For critical areas, choose compounds that slightly change the shade of the wood so that you can carefully control the application process.

Pay attention to the compatibility of the product with subsequent decoration of the ends, for example, with tinting or texture compounds.

Fire retardant treatment of floors and rafters

Types of processing:

  • primary before using lumber (immersing in a solution) or after building a building (applying the composition with a spray, roller, brush);
  • periodic after the fire protection period of the previously applied product has expired.

Popular brands:

Senezh Ognebio, Senezh Ognebio Prof, Negorin-MS, Ultan, HMHA, Pirilax-Lux, Pirilax-Terma, KEDR Zashchita-PPP, KEDR-AN6, MIG-09, OZONE-007, KEDR-KD.

Impact principle

You can improve the protection of a wooden house from fire by two types of means: coating compositions (paints, pastes, varnishes, coatings) and impregnating fire retardants. In most cases, impregnating compositions not only protect wooden structures from fire and flame spread, but also have antiseptic properties. Contains fire retardants (flame retardants, substances that enhance the effect of retardants (synergists) and stabilizers that limit the consumption of synergists.

Fireproof treatment of a wooden house inside. Photo

Provided fire protection properties (1 or 2 groups. For particularly critical structures, which include rafters and ceilings, fire protection group 1 should be achieved. To do this, increase the number of applied layers, as recommended in the instructions for the drug, although there are also means to achieve high protection for 1 pass. Attention! Some surface impregnation preparations can provide only group 2 fire protection.

Use wood color-changing compounds to protect your most critical structures. This way you will be able to visually monitor the quality of the antipyrite treatment.

To control the application of preparations when treating the inside of a wooden house, use products with decorative tinting in shades natural to wood.

Do not allow contact with atmospheric moisture or drip-liquid moistening until the preparation is fixed in the wood.

Use specialized preparations for antipyrite treatment of baths, saunas, hammams, for example, Pirilax-Terma.

If protection of wooden structures with previously applied paint coating, it is convenient to use water-dispersed thermal intumescent paint KEDR-KD, which provides fire protection group 1 at temperatures up to 60°C in rooms with humidity up to 80%.

Protection against blue stains and mildew

Types of processing:

How to protect a wooden house from blue stains and mold. Photo

Popular brands:

Tikkurila Valtti Pohjuste, Tikkurila Valtti Akvabase, Tikkurila Valtti Expert Base, League Bioshield, Antimold Lakra, Nortex-Doctor, Senezh Eurotrans, Nortex-Lux, KEDR Doctor (winter and summer), Nortex-Transit, BS 13, Drevotex-Antimold.

Impact principle

Fungal pores, penetrating into damp wood, form local colonies that change their natural color to blue, green, black or pink. If left wet for a long time, the tree may rot. Antiseptic agents with a fungicidal effect penetrate into damp wood and sterilize it. This eliminates the increase in the hygroscopic characteristics of wood.

Treatment is possible in three ways: immersion in an antiseptic, applying the solution with a brush or spraying. The protection time for freshly sawn wood materials can be 4 (8 months for different brands, subject to proper ventilated stacking. When applied in several layers and without subsequent leaching of the product after treatment inside a wooden house, the period of protection against fungal damage can be up to 45 years.

When choosing an antiseptic, evaluate the full range of its effects in order to reduce the effort and cost of complex treatment of a wooden house. Many fungicides additionally protect wood from woodworms. Some manufacturers also guarantee protection against algae, house fungus, cracking, or increased fire resistance.

Treatment of a wooden house from mold inside. Photo

Not all brands are suitable for processing wooden houses inside, and some of the suitable ones will then require washing out the antiseptic before painting or varnishing. Please read the instructions carefully before purchasing.

When using compounds externally, pay attention to weather resistance. Some manufacturers indicate the need to protect facades from prolonged exposure to water with awnings or siding.

Protection from woodworms

Types of processing:

  • preventative before the start of construction and installation work;
  • periodic when the effectiveness of the drug has expired;
  • medicinal with a small area of wood damage.

Popular brands:

Lignofix Stabil, Drevotex-Bio, Woodmaster Anti-bug, Belinka Belocid, Belinka Fentin, Antishashelin.

Impact principle

Many antiseptics have a barrier insecticidal property, penetrating several mm into the wood and making the subsequent development of woodworms (shashel) impossible. It is precisely because of the limited impregnation layer that it is advisable to treat healthy wood even before the construction of the log house, since the use of chemicals with a large degree of damage does not make sense.

To do this, a bioantiseptic solution is injected (syringed) inside the bugs' passages as deeply as possible, and then the passage is sealed so that the antiseptic can penetrate into the thickness of the beam. If the affected area is extensive, then other treatment methods are used: fogation, fumigation, microwave treatment, dry steam, and insecticides. All of them will ultimately cost more than treating a wooden house with antiseptics for prevention.

Most drugs kill only adult beetles, but Antishashelin is also effective against their larvae, provided that you manage to inject the drug deep enough into the affected wooden structures.

For deeper penetration of the drug, apply the product up to 3 times with an interval of 2 (3 days).

The period of effectiveness of bioantiseptics can reach 10 years, which is significantly longer than common insecticides. We advise you to repeat preventive treatment after the expiration date specified in the instructions.

Wood bleaching

Type of processing:

Popular brands:

CEDAR Bleach, Nortex-Bleach, Senezh Neo, Bioshield-2, Neomid 500, Senezh Effo, Drevotex-Bleach.

Impact principle

When wood darkens as a result of fungal attack, only the surface layers are usually affected, especially if there is regular moisture supply. You can disguise the defect, but it is better to return the original shade with special bleaches that penetrate inside and kill fungal mycelium on the surface and in the body of wooden structures. Bleach can be grouped into two main types:

With active oxygen. Mild impact without destructive effect on the structure and without the release of harmful gases. Typically two-component formulations requiring sequential application or mixing immediately before treatment.

When choosing how to treat a wooden house, keep in mind that the treatment procedure with gentle brands containing active oxygen is a little more complicated than with chlorine-containing products. For treating a wooden house outside it is often easier to choose an aggressive bleach, but for interior use it makes sense to work with mild detergents.

Impact principle

Glazing, texturing, tinting antiseptics are intended for finishing a wooden house outside and in the interior; they can be applied directly to wood material or over primers on the same base (water or organic). The purpose of decorative treatment (slow down the aging of wood, reduce cracking, protect from moisture and dirt, prevent damage to flexible wood or bugs.

Varieties for saunas and baths, in addition, are characterized by an increased hydrophobic effect (the ability to repel moisture from the surface). At the same time, the natural texture and smell of wood is preserved. Some products (for example, SENEZH Sauna) have an additional antimicrobial effect and destroy common types of pathogens of infectious diseases in humans.

The compositions can be colorless or tinted in the natural shades of wood of various species. There are also matte, satin (polished) and glossy preparations. Many glazing antiseptics can be tinted. After applying antiseptic impregnations for a wooden house in areas of high abrasion (stairs, railings, terraces), additional protection with varnishes is advisable.

For deeper penetration of glazing antiseptics into wood, the procedure for wall treatment should include preliminary cleaning of old coating and dust, application primer compositions(we recommend choosing antiseptic primers from the same company on the same, aqueous or organic, base with a finishing composition).

Do not use exterior treatment products in the interior unless specified in the instructions. Compositions prepared on an organic basis have a better degree of protection, but may contain toxic substances and have an unpleasant odor.

Chemical protection at home (affordable and effective method prolong the original appearance, delay the aging of wood, protect the house from fungal and biological damage, and the danger of fire. Along with preserving the natural beauty of the wood texture, you can simultaneously refine the color of the walls, add gloss to the facade, and increase the overall lifespan of the house by several decades.
