Floor tiles for laminate: fashionable ideas for the interior. Floor tiles for laminate - a modern material with great possibilities

If you take a closer look at the interior of the houses modern people, then you can find the use of materials such as wood panels, stone. Their natural options are quite expensive and are not suitable for every room. But ceramic compositions with imitation stone, laminate or parquet have universal characteristics.

Floor tiles wood effect (or ceramic parquet) looks very similar to a classic wooden floor, accurately copies the “wood” relief and pattern. You can distinguish it only after touching it.

The advantages of wood-look material for flooring are as follows:

  • High aesthetic performance. This makes tile a versatile finishing flooring for any space or room.
  • Resistance to mechanical stress and wear.

The material made from ceramic compositions has a standard shape, and the wood imitation option is supplied in the form of panels of different sizes.

It is important to take into account one nuance: wood-effect floor tiles remain cool at all times, unlike real wood.

It is advisable to additionally lay flooring for heated floors.

Marble has always been considered exquisite and expensive material for decorating rooms. Modern interior involves the use of aesthetically beautiful, practical and economical materials.

Product copying marble

Natural marble perfectly replaces floor coverings that imitate it. For a reasonable price, you can cover the floor of your living room or kitchen with a product that replicates marble, which has the following characteristics and advantages:

  • Versatility. “Artificial” marble is suitable for decorating almost any room: office, residential.
  • The external attractiveness of decorative marble tiles is maintained throughout its entire service life, which is at least 10-15 years.
  • The ability to use flooring made from ceramic compositions in “warm floor” systems with different principles work.
  • Installation of a product that imitates a natural mineral is similar. You will need to carefully prepare the rough base, apply the adhesive mixture and forcefully place the tile elements into it.
  • High-quality ceramics have more advanced characteristics than products of natural origin. Marble tiles are not required special care, has significant strength and wear resistance. The ceramic structure has no pores, so it does not absorb moisture or grease. It is also important to note its resistance to all kinds of abrasive and mechanical loads.
  • The tile material has high environmental friendliness.

Features and advantages of laminate effect tiles

Laminate floor tiles have recently become one of the most popular solutions in modern interiors.

Tiles imitating laminate

Decorating tiles that imitate lamination combine a lot of advantages while preserving the aesthetic characteristics of the latter.

If it cannot be used in rooms with high levels of humidity or high traffic, then an analogue made of ceramic compositions is installed in bathrooms, kitchens, showers, office and semi-industrial premises.

Among the well-known advantages of tiles under the laminated layer are the following:

  • Imitation can be performed not only by color, but also by texture. You can choose a building material that will have the roughness characteristic of natural wood. Tiles from famous world manufacturers will accurately reproduce the shades of various wood species.
  • Has high abrasion resistance. If you decorate the floor with decorative tiles that imitate high-quality laminate, you will provide the room with a durable and reliable coating for a long time.
  • The use of lamination is limited due to its low moisture resistance. Tile imitating it appearance and structure, will not be damaged and absorb moisture even with constant contact with the aquatic environment. You just need to follow all the rules for laying it.
  • Ceramics have a reasonable price, which does not exceed the cost.

Many residents of houses and apartments dream of flooring from parquet board. But such material is quite expensive and requires special care. Modern companies producing building materials have solved this problem and created ceramic flooring that completely imitates the texture, color and structure.

Ceramic parquet

A floor made from it will be durable, highly resistant to wear, and will be suitable for creating a sandwich construction of a heated floor. High-quality parquet-like compositions are highly environmentally friendly and fit perfectly into the interior of almost any room. To install such material on the floor, you will need to follow the instructions included with the product.

Natural stone is considered a beautiful and reliable material for building decoration.

Stone imitation product

But if we are talking about the interior design of the apartment, then it is safer and practical option professionals call facing tiles a stone look.

Artificial stone is lightweight and its installation is very simple.

Also construction products, imitating stone, are durable and resistant to chemical and mechanical influences.

When designing, floor design is very important. It can only be a background, or it can attract attention. It all depends on how you see your home. In connection with the vision, the floor design is developed. First, the tone is chosen - dark or light, then the materials are selected and only then the technical aspects are decided.

Floor color and interior

Floor design begins with color selection. To begin with, not so much color as tone: whether the floor will be light or dark in the room. There are many selection criteria. This is the style of the room, its dimensions, your desires.

In recent decades, light-colored floors have become a clear favorite. It is typical for most fashion styles decoration of apartments and houses. The light flooring should be of Scandinavian design, in minimalism, modern style, pop art and even in the popular Provence and loft. They make light, and sometimes even shiny, floors in exotic high-tech and in some no less exotic directions.

Light floor in loft style - carefully aged wood

Dark floors are appropriate in classic interior and other “historical” movements - baroque, gothic, rococo, etc., they are also inherent in eastern ethnic trends - rooms decorated in Japanese and Chinese styles. If you know exactly what kind of setting you want, it's easier for you. If you haven’t fully decided yet, you’ll have to figure it out further.

Style isn't all there is to it. Different colour gender creates different sensations. A light floor covering makes the interior light and airy and optically expands the boundaries of the room. That is, this is an option for small rooms.

But at the same time, the atmosphere is “cold”. The room is light and light, but “comfort” in the classical sense will not work. But you can place dark or bright furniture, some outlandish accessories. Against a light background, all this does not hurt the eyes and brings a touch of coziness. After a busy day, this environment might be better.

The dark floor, on the contrary, is heavier and more down-to-earth. It gives a feeling of comfort and stability, but in a small room, and even with low ceilings, a “box” effect appears. Comfort becomes oppressive and heavy. This effect can be compensated very light walls and the ceiling, with an abundance of light. If you want a dark floor in a small room, the furniture and doors should be light.

Gloomy...

In large areas with high ceilings, dark floors can look good. dark furniture and doors, but with bright multi-zone lighting and very light floors and ceilings. For standard apartments this is not an option.

And finally, let's move on to the practical component. Everyone has long known that dirt is more visible on a light surface. This is also true for the floor and you will have to clean it more often. But you will be able to save on electricity and lighting fixtures: With the same amount of light, the illumination in a room with a light floor is better. And this, by the way, is also one of the selection criteria. If the room is directed to the south, you can “shade” it with a dark floor, and vice versa - in the north, lighten it with a white or light gray floor.

One of the intermediate options - neither dark nor light

Floor materials and design

Undoubtedly, the two most popular types of flooring are laminate and ceramic tiles. Laminate is used most often in residential premises; some of its types are suitable for technical purposes according to their technical characteristics. Ceramic tiles, on the contrary, are present in technical rooms- bathroom, kitchen, hallway, corridor, and is almost never used in residential areas. These two floor coverings are used in almost every renovation and the design is developed mainly based on these materials.

Laminate in the interior and its types

This flooring is just an imitation of wood, tiles, parquet. But current technologies make it possible to repeat the texture with high accuracy. If you consider that the coating is relatively inexpensive, and there are a lot of options, the service life is about 5-8 years, its popularity becomes clear.

It is impossible to count how many wood-look laminate colors there are. There is an imitation of any breed in any color, with different board widths. So you can find the required color for any request. But there are also non-standard colors. For example, laminate imitating tiles or parquet. It is not found very often and is not available from all manufacturers, which is why many people do not know about such colors. It is produced not in the form of rectangles, but in the form of squares. Below are some examples of such unusual colors.

Imitation of floor tiles of any color and format is also laminate Imitation of parquet is also laminate

But wood laminate looks no less advantageous in most interiors. It is available in both light and dark colors. So special labor It won't be possible to find the option you need.

There is laminate in traditional beige and brown tones, and there are ultra-fashionable bleached colors - bleached oak, ash, pine and others. They are used to create those very light and unobtrusive interiors in modern style, minimalism and others.

This is bleached ash. Warm, slightly beige shade

Dark types of laminate look just as good. They completely recreate a wooden surface.

Suitable for some modern interiors

Tile

We can talk about design options for ceramic tile floors for a long time. The number of collections tends to infinity, different sizes, shapes, colors, shades, plain-colored, with ornaments, designs, etc... and also all kinds of combinations thereof. In addition, there are unusual options that have become popular over the past few years.

The trend of the last year is the use of tiles that imitate wood on the floor. Such oddities - in laminate they imitate tiles, in ceramics they imitate wood. However, wood-look tiles are used by fashionable designers in the kitchen or hallway.

On the floor there are tiles imitating wood

This solves the question: lay tiles or laminate on the floor in the kitchen or hallway. The tiles are more convenient to use, because even the best laminate does not like water, it swells and swells. If its quality is normal, after some time the coating returns to normal. But water or other liquid can be spilled again... So they laid the tiles on the floor, fortunately there was a heated floor and in this version it was comfortable in the kitchen (and in the bathroom). It was difficult to coordinate the “wooden” pattern of the laminate and the smooth, shiny tiles. But now with wood-look ceramic tiles, this problem is solved. The joint is made much easier.

Another option for the kitchen

Tiles with uneven edges look interesting on the floor. If you rub the seams with a contrasting color composition, it turns out very expressive.

Honeycomb-shaped tiles are rare. Hexagons are difficult to arrange, but the effect is unexpected.

Hexagonal shape

If we talk about more traditional shapes - squares and rectangles, then using them you get very interesting floor decor. The technique with large and small tiles has long been known, however, with new collections a different look is obtained.

For some country styles tiles will do with patterns. Recently, the combination of brown and white has become more popular.

In this interior, floor design is a key point.

Laying such tiles is also not easy: the match must be down to a millimeter. All deviations are noticeable and disrupt harmony. So the master must be highly qualified.

When planning the design of a tile floor, remember that the following rule also applies in this case: either the floor will be bright and the rest of the interior will be calm, or vice versa. You can make the floor and furniture the same color or match the doors tone-on-tone (or a very close shade). You shouldn’t choose a color regardless of the other situation, or you’ll end up with something indigestible.

The junction of laminate and tiles

The most problematic places when independent development floor design is a combination of two different coatings. Let me give you one piece of advice. If you do not have artistic inclinations, make the joint smooth. It looks much better than the vague, crooked lines that you can sometimes see.

Practical purpose of tiles near front door It’s clear: it’s easier to clean. But the form was chosen completely poorly. IN in this case the section could have been extended even to the second door and the joint could have been made slightly curved if you absolutely didn’t like straight lines.

The same problem - tiles near the front door - was solved more successfully

They try not to use thresholds, as in the photo. But if the thickness of the coatings differs, this cannot be avoided. However, the shiny stripes in modern design do not use. Choose a color as close as possible to either the tile or the laminate. Ideally it should match. Then the rounded lines do not “hurt” the eyes.

If you are joining different floor coverings from two rooms, connect them under the door. To match, use a cork backing that is painted to match the color of the laminate or tile. This results in a neat seam. In this case, it is important to trim the edges evenly. They can be sharpened until they match completely.

If you still want uneven lines, then they are drawn for a reason. They can repeat a line on the ceiling, outline the outline of furniture, or connect two specific points. In any case, the connection must be logical. In the photo below you can see good example. Although the color and character of the surface are very different, the repetition of color in the furniture harmonizes this. The alignment line, if you look closely, goes around the furniture. Everything is natural, and therefore “it doesn’t hurt the eyes.”

This is the basic rule: when choosing floor coverings, pay attention to the fact that the colors fall into the same group and are compatible, and that they are repeated in the decorative elements of the premises.

Parquet

Parquet is beautiful and prestigious. But it's far from the best low price, features of operation (regular polishing, periodic sanding, painting and humidity/temperature expansion) have led to the fact that parquet is used much less often than imitations. But the plasticity of wood allows you to create a very beautiful floor, besides, even the atmosphere in the rooms is different, and the sensations with bare feet are also different. Therefore, despite all the difficulties, he finds his admirers.

Artistic parquet is beautiful, but only looks good in large rooms

Different types of wood have different textures and different shades. There are also many tinting options that allow you to tint the wood to the desired shade. This is how entire paintings are assembled on the floor, which are called “artistic parquet.” This coating is very beautiful, but requires large amounts of space and costs a lot of money.

You can do something less complicated. Moreover, it cannot be said that simpler parquet looks less beautiful. In this case, the texture of the wood comes to the fore, and not the ornament made from it.

Several options for beautiful parquet flooring in the photo gallery.

This is how parquet is put together - plank to plank

When decorating floors in bathrooms, favorites among finishing materials– ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware. The same cannot be said about the kitchen and hallway. Many people here prefer ceramics, but even more people are hesitant about the choice. This is due to the rigidity of the material and its high thermal conductivity. But how to refuse tiles, being tempted by the obvious advantages? In today's realities, it's easy. Manufacturers have offered a solution, and this is laminate under tiles.

Perhaps some are overcome by skepticism; we are accustomed to thinking about laminate in decorative rather than functional terms. Do not rush to conclusions; the tile analogue is in many respects not inferior to the original, and in some aspects even surpasses it.

Features of “tiled” laminate

Laminate flooring for tiles with a stone texture in the kitchen from Armstrong (Porto Alegre - Amber collection).

Meeting the wishes of consumers, laminate manufacturers have developed a class with increased functionality. Any laminate is coated on top with a special protective composition; imitating tiles is head and shoulders above the usual ones in this regard. Below we will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of ceramics and its “successor”, but if you have made a choice in favor of laminate flooring for kitchen tiles, then make sure that the material meets the characteristics described in the list.

German matte laminate class 32 Egger Kingsize Cremento Black has dimensions of 1291x327x8 mm. Square meter The material will cost approximately 1,700 rubles.

  • The analogue must be at least class 32. The best option– 33rd grade. This type will last for decades, while one or two levels below will last no more than ten years. However, this period may be enough, given the availability of the material and ease of installation. The most wear-resistant class is 34, which is an order of magnitude superior to 33, but there is no point in laying it at home; there is no need for such indicators in the kitchen.
  • Laminate flooring must be moisture-resistant or water-resistant. The kitchen is a place where liquid is used, so a moisture barrier layer is required. The weak points are the joints; choose a laminate without chamfers.
  • The laminate is installed using the adhesive and locking method ( Click system). The second one is much simpler and more convenient, so give preference to it.
  • Environmental friendliness is an important component of any finishing material. When planning to use it in the kitchen, think about safety, choose one with minimal formaldehyde content (class E1) or without it.
  • Strength largely depends on density. According to this indicator, the laminate must be at least 900 kg/m3.
  • Another parameter related to strength is thickness. Choose a material with a thickness of at least 8 mm.

Advantages and disadvantages of ceramics and laminate

Help you decide on the choice of material for tiles.

German laminate 32 class Wineo (Witex) from the Color Matt and Color High Gloss collection perfectly imitates monotonous tiles, tiles with the texture of stone, marble, travertine, and steel. A square meter of this coating costs almost 3,000 rubles.

Swedish Pergo from the Original Excellence collection has a semi-matte surface and wear resistance class 33. The price is a little cheaper - 2500-2700 RUR/m².

Pros of ceramics

  • Reliability and durability. Ceramic tiles, and even more so porcelain tiles, are much stronger than HDF slabs. Having chosen a suitable tile and fulfilled all installation conditions, you don’t have to worry about operational problems (force majeure doesn’t count).
  • Resistance to household chemicals and moisture.
  • Huge variety of collections. Today, several hundred manufacturers are already fighting for the consumer, many factories have hundreds of options. This is exactly the case when there is something for every taste, color and budget. Look in our article.
  • Possibility of use in various conditions.

Cons of ceramics

  • Rigidity. An otherwise precious quality in the kitchen and hallway turns into a problem. Especially if there is a child in the house. An accidental fall can have consequences. Rigidity is dangerous not only for people, but also for objects: dropping dishes on a hard floor will most likely lead to the purchase of a new one.
  • Difficulty in installation. Without the skills, it is difficult to lay tiles efficiently. In any case, cladding is labor-intensive and dirty work, which also takes a lot of time.
  • High thermal conductivity. Ceramic does not retain heat, so the pleasant coolness that we look for in tiles in the summer turns into trouble in cold weather. Using heated floors solves the problem, but increases costs and labor intensity.
  • High price. Nice tile It’s not cheap, there’s little point in a bad one.

Advantages of laminate

  • Ease of installation and repair. The locking fastening allows even an untrained person to install the coating. If HDF boards are damaged, they can be easily replaced, and besides, they can be used in the countryside. Damaged ceramic tiles It is unlikely that it will be possible to remove it completely without damaging it (depending on the quality of the glue).
  • Resistance to mechanical stress. Although ceramics are stronger, laminate responds more flexibly to impacts. Where the tile cracks or chips, the analogue will “bend” and stand.
  • Not afraid of temperature fluctuations. Laying tiles with low-quality adhesive in a room with temperature changes can lead to the ceramic peeling off. In the case of laminate, there is a small compensation gap, and the expansion of the material is not scary.
  • Laminate under tiles is not afraid of moisture, and some models can withstand a certain amount of liquid.

Cons of laminate

Laminate for bathroom

High-quality plumbing and the hope that there will be no force majeure floods can motivate you to install laminate flooring in the bathroom. In this case, purchase a waterproof type. Regular exposure to small amounts of water is not dangerous for him. Unlike moisture-resistant, which is one step lower, this type is characterized by:

  • production pressing with a high-pressure apparatus;
  • sealing and impregnation of interlayer cracks with hot wax;
  • top coating made of water-repellent special polymer;

How well the HDF boards are processed can be judged by the appearance of the locks. Visually wet and slippery indicate deep wax impregnation. Trying to remove a layer of wax with a fingernail in the case of a high-quality product will lead to nothing.

Laying features

Always waterproof. The underlay for the laminate floor will hide horizontal roughness and perform sound insulation functions. Laminate flooring requires acclimatization after delivery to your home; allow it to sit for at least two days. Provide a gap of half a centimeter between the slabs and the walls.
Square laminate flooring looks beautiful when trimmed evenly on each side.

  1. First, the second row is assembled only from solid slabs. We center the assembled strip and make 2 even cuts along the edges.
  2. To lay the first row, you need to trim it exactly as much as the last one. We calculate the size of cutting the slabs according to the width. To do this, measure the width of the room, divide it by the width of 1 panel and get the number of rows (for example, 3.81).
  3. We take the remainder of 0.81 and multiply it by the width of 1 slab, and then divide by 2 (trimming on the left and right). We subtract 1 cm from the result - a gap of 0.5 cm on each side.

The procedure for laying square laminate is shown in the video instructions:

Maybe, the best option For you, a combination of these two coatings will be possible: tiles are laid in wet areas, and laminate in the rest. The joint can be designed in several ways, which are described.

Having analyzed the advantages and disadvantages, we come to a controversial conclusion: laminate flooring for kitchen tiles is preferable to ceramics. If you don’t pretend to be a designer and follow the rules for using finishing materials, with laminate you will get a more tactile coating. Maintain your floors regularly and HDF boards will last a very long time.

Any repair is primarily a choice of materials. And not only the design, but also the purely practical side of the issue depends on this choice. Properly selected materials will help make the interior of the house holistic and harmonious, and maximize the comfort of everyone living in this house.

Variety offered today building materials very wide indeed. When designing and manufacturing these materials, manufacturers try to achieve the best combination performance characteristics, ease of use and visual appeal. And one of the most striking examples of how these qualities can be combined in ideal proportion is laminate floor tiles - a material that has become extremely popular recently.

What are laminate floor tiles?

Laminate floor tiles are floor tiles that have an unusual appearance. On the outside, it has a coating that imitates various types of wood in color, pattern and texture. Laying such tiles allows you to give the floor an appearance that completely replicates a wooden floor covering. And wood, as you know, goes well with any interior style.

In addition to the excellent design, the floor in the room where laminate tiles are laid acquires very useful characteristics from the point of view of operation. And first of all, the difference between this flooring from natural wood is that it is not afraid of water and high humidity air, which means that traces of rot and mold do not appear on it. It is not without reason that tiles are recommended to be laid in rooms that are characterized by these particular features - for example, in the bathroom or kitchen. As a result, you will get a floor that is visually indistinguishable from wood, but without the disadvantages characteristic of wood.

Advantages of tiles under laminate.

The fashion for floor tiles under laminate is based not only on its external beauty, but also on the advantages that ceramics exhibit, in contrast to wood. We have already mentioned the main advantages - external splendor and resistance to moisture. In addition, the list of advantages of this tile includes:

  • wear resistance of this material. As a result, such flooring will last you much longer than floors made of parquet, regular laminate or any other materials;
  • resistance to high temperature and to temperature changes. This material does not dry out from heat, does not warp or crack. In addition, this characteristic of tiles makes it possible to use just such a floor covering when installing underfloor heating systems. By the way, this approach to the installation of floors helps to overcome perhaps the only drawback of tiles - the low temperature of its surface. After all, it is precisely the fact that tiles are cold to the touch that sometimes stops those who want to find an effective floor covering for the bathroom, where they stand on the floor with bare feet, or the kitchen, where all family members spend a lot of time;
  • When it comes to flooring, the waterproofing properties of tiles are especially important. Having no pores on its surface, the tile does not allow water that gets on its surface to penetrate inside. The main thing here is to properly process the seams between individual tiles and the joints between the flooring and the walls. This will help you avoid trouble with your downstairs neighbors even if there is spillage on the floor. a large number of water;
  • Today, great importance is attached to the environmental purity of any material used for interior decoration dwellings. And the floor tiles do not cause any complaints in this regard, because only natural ingredients are used for their production;
  • the outer covering of the tile remains as bright and beautiful as at the time of installation, even after many years of intensive use of the floors - it does not wear off from contact with shoes and is not afraid of direct exposure to sunlight, so the floor will delight you with its appearance for a very long time ;
  • Caring for tile floors is extremely simple - in most cases, dirt can be removed from it by simply washing the floor with water. The tiles are not afraid of aggressive detergents;
  • and finally, it is worth paying attention to the ease of installation of such flooring, as well as the ease of its repair. If any tile is damaged, it will be enough to simply replace it using special glue or liquid nails, without completely dismantling the floor covering.

Laminate floor tiles can be considered a truly ideal material. She is able to fully satisfy your design needs, giving the room a very stylish and truly noble appearance, just like it does natural wood. And at the same time, the tiles are devoid of all the disadvantages of wood, which means that such flooring will delight you with its natural beauty longer. There are indeed a lot of examples of such flooring presented today, so you can always choose the color of the tile (that is, what kind of wood it imitates) in strict accordance with the overall interior design. But when choosing a tile, do not forget to pay attention not only to its color, but also to the texture of its surface - it must have roughness so that your feet do not slip on it.

Renovation of any room begins with the selection of materials. The modern construction market offers a wide range of coatings with which you can realize the most incredible design ideas. One of the newest final finishing is a floor tile for laminate. Thanks practically perfect combination technical characteristics and appearance, this material is becoming increasingly popular.

Owners country houses Wood is often used for decoration. This material is known to be natural and has many advantages. In apartments, wooden elements are used quite rarely, which is associated with risks of leakage, increased humidity levels and possible temperature changes. What should those who want to see in the kitchen or bathroom not regular tile, and what about the tree? There is a great option - to lay ceramic tiles that imitate laminate or any other wooden covering. Unlike natural wood, such tiles are moisture resistant, and this is its main advantage. What other advantages does tile for parquet or laminate have?

  • Resistant to temperature changes. Unlike wood, it will not dry out due to heat and cracks will not appear on it. Ceramic tiles are one of the the best coatings, if you plan to install heated floors.
  • It has high level wear resistance. The service life of a laminate product is much longer than, for example, parquet, solid wood or laminate.
  • Environmental friendliness. More and more consumers are choosing for their homes natural materials. Floor tiles are one of them, because only natural ingredients are used for its production. The product is made from clay and then fired in a kiln.
  • Good waterproofing properties. Tiles, unlike wood, do not absorb moisture. The main thing when laying the covering is to properly seal the seams, then, even if you have a flood, the neighbors below will not suffer.

Modern technologies allow you to imitate the structure of wood with the highest accuracy
  • Easy installation. It is not only easy to lay tiles yourself, but also to repair them. To replace a defective element, you do not need to completely dismantle the coating. It is enough just to replace the damaged tile with a new one, fixing it with special glue.
  • Long service life - up to 50 years.
  • Maintains original appearance. Even many years after installation, tiles that imitate laminate look just as attractive and bright. You will not see any signs of abrasion or fading due to exposure ultraviolet rays. The tile looks like new over a long period of use.
  • Easy care. Wooden floors require constant attention. It is enough to wash the tiled floor under the laminate with water. In addition, it is resistant to aggressive chemicals.

As you can see, ceramic tiles are an almost ideal floor covering, devoid of all the disadvantages inherent in wood. Perhaps the only disadvantage of the material is that it is cold. Therefore, you should think about installing heated floors in advance. Then the feeling of warmth and comfort will be complete.

Laying and choosing tiles

Under the laminate is not a very difficult task and is quite doable with your own hands. The main thing here is to strictly follow the algorithm of actions. Since the tile imitates laminate, it is best to lay it end-to-end, that is, so that there are no seams. In this case, the coating will look truly solid. If gaps cannot be avoided, then grout matched to the tone of the “laminate” will help.

Tiles are usually produced in the shape of a rectangle or square. In size it can be large, medium and small. The choice of one option or another depends on the size of the room. The top layer of tiles can be matte, glossy or rough. To finish the floor, tiles with a rough or matte surface are most often used.

The photo shows two different approaches to laying tiles under laminate flooring. On the left - with the formation of seams with crosses, on the right - with a minimal seam using the tile leveling system (SVP)

As for the color of the material, then color solutions have virtually no boundaries. Available in shades of every type of wood, from birch to rosewood and teak. For unusual design In the interior of spacious rooms, you can use tiles that imitate a combination of ceramics and wood.

The video describes all stages of work on laying our cladding:

PVC tiles

If ceramics are unaffordable, you can resort to a more economical option - polyvinyl chloride (PVC) tiles. This material also imitates various types of wood. The shades of cut pine and birch are simpler, but there are PVC tiles for valuable tree species.

Unlike ceramics, PVC coating is warm and has good sound insulation properties. The surface of the tiles is non-slip, which is of particular importance if there are children, elderly or people with disabilities in the house. However, if there is water on the surface, caution should be exercised.

Another advantage is the moderate price-quality ratio. In appearance, the surface is almost perfect, the coating is difficult to distinguish from laminate, but the cost of the material is low.

Self-adhesive vinyl tiles under the laminate makes its installation accessible to any home craftsman

Despite the fact that laying PVC is not difficult, there are still some nuances:

  1. The base must be perfectly level. If any defects remain on it (lumps, protrusions, etc.), the tile may become deformed in these places.
  2. The floor surface must be dry and clean. To get rid of dirt and dust, you can use a construction vacuum cleaner.
  3. Before installation, the base should be treated with two layers of primer. This ensures the best adhesion of the coating to the base.
  4. Excess adhesive must be removed immediately and the tiles must be walked over with a rubber roller to remove air bubbles.

And this is what the installation process looks like:

When choosing PVC tiles, try to find out information about its composition. If among the components there is, for example, quartz sand, then such a material is less susceptible to mechanical stress and has higher abrasion resistance.

The fashion for wooden floors is unlikely to ever go away. But if there is no technical or financial opportunity to use natural wood in your home, then consider ceramic tiles that imitate wood. Possessing many advantages even over wood, such tiles will decorate any interior and bring comfort, warmth and coziness. Add your comments and share your experience.
