Examples of drawings of gazebos and diagrams with dimensions. Guide for making an octagonal gazebo

Surely the owners country houses More than once we planned to equip our site so that not only the original landscape was present there, summer cuisine, but there was also a place where you could comfortably have lunch outdoors with your family or have dinner with invited friends.

The octagonal gazebo has good capacity.

A good solution to this issue would be an octagonal gazebo, which you can make yourself.

It will fit perfectly into any room, and its roof will protect it from precipitation.

In addition, this design has good capacity: you can place almost any garden furniture in it and it is suitable for both big family, and for the little one. At first glance, it may seem that this structure is very complex and it will not be possible to make it with your own hands, but in fact this is not the case. If you have drawings and approach construction seriously, having prepared a set of tools and building materials, then such a gazebo will benefit the dacha owner for many years.

Methods for creating an octagonal figure and making a foundation for a gazebo

First you need to make a base for the gazebo. There should be no difficulties with it, and it can be done with your own hands. Since the gazebo is considered a lightweight structure, it is enough to lay a shallowly buried strip foundation. To do this, in the selected area, using a tape measure, pegs and a cord, a square measuring 3 by 3 m is marked. Then it is divided into 8 parts and, using the same cords and a building level, the corners are cut so that a regular octagon is obtained.

An octagon can also be drawn using a circle. To do this, exactly in the middle where this structure will be located, a post (reinforcement, pipe or beam) is firmly driven in and then a rope is tied to its base, which does not have the property of stretching. A peg is attached to its end and after that a circle is drawn using such a homemade compass. Then this figure, again, is divided into 8 equal segments and the points where the arcs of the circle intersect and the diagonals that it divided are connected by straight lines. When dividing a circle or square, it is imperative to take into account that one of its segments will serve as the entrance to the gazebo.

Focusing on the stretched string, a trench is dug in the marked places, the depth of which should be 40 cm, and the width - about 15 cm. Next, formwork from boards 12 cm wide must be installed in the dug trench. They should be fastened together at the corners with self-tapping screws. It must be taken into account that the top of the boards must be in the same horizontal plane. After this, a sand cushion is poured into the trench, compacted, reinforcing material is laid and then poured concrete mortar with the addition of crushed stone. At the same stage of work, in each of the 8 corners, it is necessary to install and concrete anchors into the foundation, which can be made with your own hands from reinforcement scraps. They should rise above the foundation to a height equal to the future walls with a margin of 15-20 cm, since it is on them that they will be attached vertical racks.

Construction of an octagonal gazebo

The base of the gazebo is installed on a leveled surface.

First, it should be noted that it consists of several stages, since in addition to the foundation, other parts are included in its structure. The construction of the remaining elements of this structure can begin only after the foundation has dried thoroughly. This usually takes a week. Since it will be used outdoors, to exclude negative impact external environment it is necessary to have a waterproofing layer. You can use roofing material as it, which must be laid along the entire perimeter of the base.

Next, on all edges of the base, pieces of timber are laid on top of each other of such length that they protrude 2-3 cm at their intersection. After this, along the upper bars in their width on the lower blanks, lines are marked with a pencil and sections are cut along them with a hacksaw. Then, using a chisel and chisel, grooves are made. In the same way, cuttings are made on the upper bars. It should be taken into account that all grooves made must have the same depth, which will help the workpieces assemble strictly into a horizontal structure.

After this, all protruding excess parts of the bars are cut down so that an even and neat corner of the octagon is formed. All pieces are fastened together with nails. In this way, crown by crown, the walls of the gazebo are erected to the required height. In projects, it is usually indicated at half human height, since it is at this level that it is convenient to place window sills. They are made from smoothly planed boards with a section of 50 by 150 mm. They are attached to the wall with galvanized nails.

Next you need to install the vertical posts. To do this, holes are made on 8 wooden blocks with a cross-section of 100 by 100 mm and a height of 170 cm at the lower ends and placed on previously made anchors. Then the vertical pillars at the upper ends are connected to each other by beams of the appropriate size strictly horizontally. In addition, in order for the vertical posts to hold well and the entire structure to have strong stability, the presence of rafters is necessary. If you don’t do them, you won’t be able to lay the roof either.

To make them, you will need to prepare pieces of timber of the same length. After this, grooves are made on them and on the racks for joining these elements and secured with self-tapping screws. Then you need to connect their upper ends to each other using a small octagon, which can be made from pieces of timber with a cross-section of 100 by 100 mm, having previously positioned it exactly in the center of the gazebo. When erecting rafters, it is necessary to control the verticality of the racks.

The roof can be covered with any roofing material. For example, excellent option shingle boards that match the design of this gazebo will serve. They are laid from top to bottom, leaving a minimum gap between them. The sector gaps are closed with ridge elements, which are made using a bar with a cross-section of 50 by 50 mm. The top of the roof is covered with a cone-shaped cap made of galvanized iron.

Built-in benches will add comfort to the gazebo.

Next, the gazebo should be refined. This can be done using trellises. They take the form of a lattice, which is made by nailing slats crosswise to form a pattern of squares or diamonds. In addition, trellises can serve as trellises, which, if planted around the perimeter of the gazebo, will add romance to it. To make them, you will need many slats with a cross section of 10 by 25 mm. To decorate this design With such a decorative lattice, you need to make a frame from a bar with a cross-section of 25 by 25 mm, then fix it on the racks and nail the slats to it with galvanized nails, in accordance with the desired pattern.

Wooden structures that are located outdoors should be treated with paints and varnishes intended for outdoor use. They protect wood from the negative effects of the external environment. Small wooden elements can be cleaned with DIY sandpaper, but for larger surfaces it is better to use a sander. All wooden parts must be coated with an antiseptic before assembly.

At the last stage, the floor is made with your own hands. The most practical, durable and reliable option for this would be paving slabs or paving stones. Of course, you can make wooden floors, but they will quickly become unusable. In addition, such floors must be periodically painted, which will entail additional financial and labor costs.

We don’t come to our summer cottage to spend time in the house. To enjoy the fresh air, beautiful views, you can build a garden gazebo by choosing a suitable project.

With the help of a beautiful gazebo, you can complement the landscape of the site, create a place for communication and complete relaxation.

Currently, there are a lot of designs for gazebos with brick barbecues. With self-construction, the average savings in material resources is 40-50%.

Varieties of materials and designs

  1. As a traditional building material country gazebo is natural wood. Such designs of gazebos with barbecues and barbecues can be supplemented with decorative openwork elements and combined with metal.
  2. Among the popular materials for the construction of light gazebos, metal can be mentioned. When choosing as a frame profile pipe or a steel corner, the gazebo will have a significant service life.

Can be picked up various projects wooden gazebos, differing in size and option for arranging the roofing system.

Advice ! Before you start construction work, make a drawing of a gazebo made of wood or metal.

Option for a wooden country gazebo

  1. After you select a drawing of the future gazebo, we select a place for construction on the site. We remove the soil layer to a depth of 10-15 cm and level the area for high-quality concreting. Concrete screed - a budget option foundations for the gazebo.
  2. In the process of concreting the foundation of the gazebo, we bury square or round pipes so that they protrude 20-30 cm from the concrete. We make holes in them, get supports for installing wooden posts, and we will install the roofing system on them.
  3. A light dacha gazebo does not require the construction of a brick fence. You can limit yourself to a small fence, making it from eurolining (or polycarbonate) mounted on longitudinal bars.
  4. To make the roof of the gazebo, we will use a wooden beam with a section of 50 by 50 mm, and assemble a hipped gable frame from it. To securely fasten the frame, you will need a horizontal strapping beam. Suitable roofing materials include polycarbonate, metal tiles, wavy slate, ondulin.

Advice ! To correctly calculate the amount of material for the roof, you need to take into account the dimensions of the roofing material and make an overlap for the side and end roof overhangs.

When laying several sheets of slate along a slope at once, the length of the sheet is reduced by 10-15 cm, creating a high-quality overlap.

Polycarbonate is suitable not only for fencing, but also as a roofing material. This impact-resistant and lightweight plastic can be combined with metal profile. The finished translucent openwork structure can be installed in the shade of trees.

Polycarbonate gazebo

A high-quality drawing of a gazebo with dimensions is a guarantee of a beautiful and durable structure. To create such a garden structure, you will need a steel corner with a section of 50 by 50 mm, a standard polycarbonate sheet, a steel strip, planed boards for making benches and a table. We concrete 4 corner metal posts into the foundation, weld the posts with a metal corner measuring 25 by 25 mm. For the support post, we pass a horizontal beam and weld it. The flexibility of polycarbonate allows you to do arched roof For summerhouse any shape. We weld steel strips 50mm wide to the racks, bend them in the form of an arch, and attach longitudinal metal strips for fixing polycarbonate.

The roof on the gazebo can also be made from bitumen shingles. In this case, OSB sheets will be required, from which we will make a base for the roof. Chipboard has a thickness of 10-12 mm, it is rigid and durable, and a wooden spatial frame will be required to fix it. The structure being erected does not require a frame frame; we use a concrete screed reinforced with steel mesh as the foundation and floor. Such a surface is suitable for placing a barbecue and is fireproof. When building a gazebo for winter use, we give preference to floors made of natural wood.

Foundation for a summerhouse

Among the inexpensive foundation options for garden gazebos Let's note the columnar foundation. It can be made from ordinary red brick or natural stone- flagstone. To do this, we dig square holes up to 40 cm around the perimeter under the gazebo and place posts in them in mortar. We lay it in the masonry anchor bolts 20 cm in size, with a thread at the free end. We place a simple wooden frame on them. We lay it along the frame floorboard, treated with an antiseptic solution. We choose cellular polycarbonate as the material for the walls of the winter gazebo.

About the layout of the gazebo

You will need a garden plot plan indicating the house, outbuildings (barn, bathhouse), and path diagrams. If you want to install a gazebo in the garden with a barbecue, stove, fireplace, step back 3-5 meters from the dacha. Brick grill I lay it out in 3-4 bricks (750 - 1000 mm), the width is made 10 bricks (1200 mm).

In addition to a barbecue or grill, you will also need a work table of 600-800 mm, as well as a place to place firewood. In addition to a place to relax (8-12 m2), a barbecue will require an area of at least 1750 by 2400 mm.

Advice ! To save space, we recommend placing the stove in the corner of the structure, or considering a separate canopy near the gazebo.

Varieties of summer designs

There is a division of gazebos into closed and open, round, multifaceted, rectangular, and combined.

The simplest option is rectangular gazebo, which is built using the Egyptian triangle.

It is better to do multifaceted structures with professional engineers to avoid errors in calculations.

First project

We offer a variant of an octagonal wooden summerhouse.

  1. On the ground we mark a regular octagon, a hole in the center, 2 additional holes for installing floor joists.
  2. We drill a hole with a diameter of 150 mm to a depth of 1 meter.
  3. We put asbestos-cement pipes with a diameter of 150 mm in it, reinforce them, then fill them cement mortar. After the concrete hardens, we cut off the reinforcement, leaving protrusions of 5 cm.
  4. We assemble the lower harness, obtaining an octagon with parallel bars.
  5. We insert vertical posts in the corners and secure them with self-tapping screws.
  6. We make the top trim from boards, fastening them with self-tapping screws.
  7. We make a circle for the center of the structure and attach it to the central post. We screw wooden blocks for the rafter system to the posts and circle.
  8. We cut the boards at an angle of 22.5 degrees and join them on the rafters. We get a structure that resembles a web.
  9. We lay a 40 mm edged board on the floor surface; be sure to impregnate the boards with an anti-corrosion compound in 2-3 layers. We cover the table top and benches with polyurethane varnish.
  10. We attach the table to the main rack. From the floor we make a table 700 mm high, choose a diameter of 1800 mm. Suitable for making tabletops furniture board. We connect the cut out circle with the legs, attaching them to the tabletop at an angle.
  11. We make benches for rest along the perimeter of the structure. You can install folding wooden chairs or portable benches.
  12. We cover the roof of the gazebo with roofing felt or flexible tiles.

Attention ! Be sure to cover all wooden parts of the gazebo with an antiseptic solution to avoid damage by insects and reliably protect them from rotting.

Second project

We offer circuit diagrams for self-construction country gazebo. The structure is made of wood; roofing material is suitable for making a roof, soft tiles, or galvanized iron (according to your desire and material capabilities).

  1. Select a drawing.
  2. We assemble the structure, install the floor, connect the posts and railings.
  3. We attach the beams opposite each other to the central hub, and place wooden beams on top of the pillars in a special cut for strength.
  4. We attach strips to the beams, making them at the same height as the base of the beams.

Third project

We offer useful tips for those who do not have experience in such work. For construction you will need the following materials:

  • fence;
  • lining;
  • 8 beams with parameters 100 by 100 (length 3 m);
  • 7 beams with dimensions 100 by 50 (length 3 m);
  • 3 packs of flexible tiles 3.4 each square meters in each;
  • 30 edged boards 3 m long, 30 mm wide;
  • plywood for laying under tiles.

Algorithm of actions

  1. We make a base 2.5 by 2.5 meters from the beams, fasten them with a cut, and place them on concrete plates. We level the beams using a level and a square, and fasten a 50 by 100 mm beam in the center.
  2. We place 2.2 meter pillars in the corners, chamfering 1-1.4 cm, and fasten them to the base using self-tapping screws and temporary spacers.
  3. For top harness We take beams 100 by 50 mm, secure the beams under the railing.
  4. Next, we build the frame of the future roof; to do this, we attach the beam vertically at the intersection of the diagonals, and attach the logs to it. We make the lag protrusion 300 mm, the roof height is 600 mm.
  5. We cover the resulting frame with sheets of plywood.
  6. Both entrances should be 900 mm wide, the width of the railings should be 700 mm. To make the railing posts, we use 100 x 100 mm beams, taking the height 850 mm.
  7. We add strength to the structure with the help of spacers made of boards, and cover them with clapboard.
  8. The roof of the structure is covered with flexible tiles.
  9. We cover the floor with an edged board, pre-treated with a planer and coated with an antiseptic solution.

To decorate the openings of the gazebo we use a wooden picket fence.

Attention ! We start calculating the picket fence with two solid lines. On the railing we set aside the distance of the vertical left post, then we attach the sheathing itself, aligning the point that we set aside on the railing with the diagonal of the post.

Between the slats we divide the entire space into the required number of steps (identical parts), then cut off the picket fence and secure it. We lay the sheathing from the upper left corner crosswise.

Advice ! When attaching the sheathing, it is important to check the parallelism of its laying, and you also need to control the distance between the slats.

If you have free resources, you can additionally install electrical wiring in the gazebo, install a shelf for the TV, and make sockets. All structures made from natural wood, it is important to immediately cover with protective impregnations.

One of best options organizing a place to relax that will not only be comfortable, but also decorate your summer cottage - this is a do-it-yourself octagonal gazebo. Like any other building of this type, it can be open or closed, and any material can be used to make it. The only difficulty during construction lies in the special geometry of the structure, but when drawing up detailed drawings, even the octagonal shape will not cause any inconvenience.

Drawing up a gazebo project

The main part of preparation for work is drawing up a detailed design design. It must include.

  • Location of the gazebo. It must be chosen carefully - the building must be illuminated by sunlight, protected from wind and prying eyes, so that it is as comfortable as possible. The ideal place would be an elevated point on the site, located in an open space. At the same time, the structure should not interfere with neighbors.
  • Design. In order for the gazebo to become a decoration of the site, to fit organically into it, and not stand out against the background of the surroundings, it is best to make it in the general style with country house. Should be selected optimal sizes. When designing an octagonal gazebo, drawings must be drawn up taking into account these dimensions.
  • List of materials used. Everything is suitable for construction - from plastic pipes to forged metal, but best choice will become wood. It is easy to process, environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing. In addition, you can use scrap materials.

The drawn up project should be certified by regulatory agencies to ensure that the construction of the gazebo will not violate any legal norms. Without this, in the future the structure may be demolished as a squatter building.

The main thing when drawing up a drawing is to build a regular octagon. There are two ways to do this.

  1. From the square. A square is constructed, then it is divided into 9 equal parts, after which the corners of the figure are cut off.
  2. From the circle. The circle is divided into 8 equal sectors with four diameters, after which the ends of the straight lines are connected.

If difficulties arise with the design, drawings can be ordered from a special organization. After this, all that remains is to purchase materials and assemble the gazebo with your own hands. The option is less economical, but the design will definitely be of high quality.

The supports of the gazebo will stand on elements of a pile foundation, the bearing capacity of which is quite sufficient for light wooden structure. There will be 9 piles - one at each corner of the building and one in the center to hold the floor. The supports should be deepened by at least 60 cm in order to go beyond the depth of soil freezing - otherwise in the fall the structure will be squeezed out of the ground by the force of soil expansion.

The work is as follows.

  1. A cushion of sand and crushed stone 70 mm thick is made in the pits. This layer must be thoroughly compacted.
  2. Tubular formwork is dug into the ground, which is then filled with a cement-sand mixture.
  3. Once the concrete has hardened, an adjustable anchor is attached to it. Instead, you can use a buried anchor (it must be installed before the concrete hardens); in addition, you can simply recess the ends of the wooden posts into the concrete. Reliability will be approximately the same.
  4. The racks are fixed using the chosen method. The levelness of the installation should be checked with a plumb line or water level. If the supports are buried in concrete, temporary spacers should be built so that when the material hardens, the posts do not warp.

If a strip foundation is used instead of a columnar one, the essence of the work will be the same, only concrete will be poured into a trench with formwork. The frame of the gazebo must be rigid, so timber with a section of 100x100 mm is used for its construction. A horizontal frame is made from timber with a cross section of 50x100 mm at the top and bottom - the floor of the gazebo will be attached to the bottom, and to the top - rafter system.

All wooden elements should be treated with antiseptic and antifungal impregnations to avoid rapid deterioration.

Floor and fence installation

The next stage of building an octagonal gazebo with your own hands is arrangement flooring. It is done on logs, for which you can use boards with a section of 50x150. They are attached to the bottom trim using metal clamps or self-tapping screws screwed in at an angle. The basis of the log system is two crosses connecting the supports. These logs will divide the floor into sectors in accordance with the drawing. Then each of the sectors is further strengthened with T-shaped struts.

Thematic material:

After this, flooring made of boards or wood-polymer composite is laid on the logs. Each sector of the floor is sheathed separately; the boards are cut so that the angle matches the angle of the main joists. The joint between the boards of different sectors should be in the middle of the joist. To fix the boards, two self-tapping screws are screwed in at both ends.

If desired, wood can be omitted - the floor can be easily made from paving slabs or simply filled with concrete. The choice is almost unlimited, it all depends on the project and the designer’s imagination.

  • supports - their role is played by gazebo posts;
  • railings - they are made by analogy with horizontal strapping; they should not be cut into supports, as this will reduce the load-bearing capacity of the posts - it is better to secure them using corners or metal brackets;
  • balusters - they can be of any shape, installed at any pitch, they are attached to the railings using self-tapping screws screwed through the beam.

In addition, it is worth making a frieze - it is built in the same way as a fence, only along the upper edge of the gazebo. Its parts can be cut out from thin boards with a jigsaw - the frieze does not need load-bearing capacity. To hide the fasteners that secure the balusters, you should use wood putty consisting of sawdust and PVA glue. These areas should then be sanded and covered with varnish or paint.

Installation of rafter system and roof

The rafter system on which the roof of the gazebo will be supported is the most complex part of the octagonal structure. It is made from 50x100 timber and a vertical cut of an octagonal shaped timber, which will connect the ends of the rafters. The other end of each board will be attached to the support posts.

The rafter system is constructed as follows.

  1. A beam is selected of such a length that, after connecting in the center of the gazebo, it protrudes beyond the edge of the gazebo by 150–200 mm.
  2. At the end, the beam is cut at an angle of 22.5° so that the rafters can be conveniently connected to each other.
  3. The bars are connected in pairs at the point of convergence, screwed with self-tapping screws to the central bar.
  4. The opposite end of the beam is screwed to the vertical support of the gazebo.

After all the rafters have been installed, the roof is sheathed with plywood or boards. Roofing material is laid on top of this base to protect against precipitation, then mounted roofing material. You can use any roofing, but it is better that it matches the roof of the house. Optimal options- tiles, metal tiles, ondulin. You can leave the wooden roof, treating it with anti-rot impregnations and painting it. The joints of the roof edges must be protected from rain by a ridge template.

After the roof is made, you can sheathe the walls if the gazebo structure is closed. For this you can use boards 30 mm thick. It is important to provide space for windows. After this, the finished gazebo is painted or covered with stain of a suitable shade. All that remains is to install a bench, table or other inside garden furniture, and the place to relax in your summer cottage will be ready for use.

Thus, building an octagonal gazebo on your own at your summer cottage is not as difficult as it might seem. If desired, you can give the resting place a more complex shape - the main thing is to follow the rules of geometry. It should be borne in mind that it is not necessary to make a structure from boards - this is just the simplest option. More original and complex are chopped arbors, forged, brick and other options. With experience you can cope with any task, the main thing is to take into account all the details when drawing up a project.

The construction of a gazebo is most often decided when the house has already been built, but there is no possibility of expanding it to add a terrace. It can be made from different materials, but goes best with wood. In addition, it is comfortable even in inclement weather.

Regardless of small sizes The octagonal gazebo can accommodate up to 16 people. And such a gazebo can be erected almost alone with a minimal set of tools.

A lightweight octagonal gazebo made of wood with your own hands is quite accessible to a person who has minimal skills in working with carpentry tools.

Almost all work on the construction of a gazebo can be done alone using a minimal set of tools. It is very good if, in addition to the minimum - a saw, plane, surface planer, hammer and drill, there is a grinder, a circular saw, a jointer and a milling machine. The material used is planed, but if the design concept requires it, some of the elements can be left natural. Wood must be treated with protective compounds. The roof can be made of any suitable material.

Construction of the gazebo base

Construction begins with marking the plan for the future gazebo on the ground. A peg is driven into the center of the selected area, and a rope with a second peg at the end is tied to it. Using the second peg, a circle is drawn, which is then divided into 8 identical segments. One of the segments must match the location chosen for entry. By connecting the edges of the segments, we get . The recommended diameter of the circle is 3.2 m. In this case, the length of the blanks will not exceed 3 m - the most popular in retail outlets. It is better if the middle of the platform is slightly convex - water will not flow in.

To prevent subsidence of the gazebo and protect the wood from rotting and destruction, a foundation is needed. The proposed option provides for the construction of a columnar foundation with your own hands. Using a drill, holes about 70 cm deep and 15 cm in diameter are drilled at the tops of the octagon, as well as in its center. Asbestos cement pipes with a diameter of 15 cm and such a length are inserted into them that they rise above the ground to the height of the gazebo above it.

Connection diagram for logs and octagonal gazebo.

The top of the pipes is leveled horizontally with each other using a level. A reinforcement rod with a diameter of 10-12 mm, protruding from the pipe by 10-15 cm, is inserted into the center of each pipe, and concrete is poured into them. After it sets, the foundation is ready.

If for some reason it is impossible to make a pipe foundation, you can make it from 9 concrete blocks. To do this, you need to dig a hole under each block, pour 10 cm of sand on the bottom and compact it. Then install blocks in the holes and level them.

Waterproofing must be installed on the foundation. Along the contour of the future gazebo, logs are laid from wooden beam 50×150 mm, mounted on edge. On the logs, at the places where they are joined, cuts are made and a hole is drilled through which the logs are mounted on the reinforcement.

Then, from the central foundation, the logs are thrown to the tops of the polygon, where they are secured with screws or nails. In the center, the logs are also fastened together. The resulting floor frame is sheathed with a “twenty” board. Sheathing can be done either in a circle, from the outer edge to the center, or simply from one edge to the other along the entire length. It is better if the boards are tongue-and-groove.

Assembling the gazebo frame

A schematic drawing will help you assemble the gazebo frame with your own hands. It is best to assemble it in the following sequence:

  1. Install the pillars supporting the roof (beams 100×100 mm). A hole is made in one of the ends to match the diameter of the reinforcement. The poles are placed on reinforcement bars and secured metal corners. The upper parts of the pillars are leveled and fixed with temporary spacers.
  2. A 50x50 mm block is attached between the lower ends of the pillars. The same bars are attached to the sides of the pillars, and railings are installed on them. Due to this, the rigidity of the structure increases.
  3. A contour is punched out of a 20x100 mm board along the top of the pillars. The boards are adjusted at the corners of the joints.
  4. The rafters are made from the same timber as the logs, with a projection of 30 cm beyond the contours of the gazebo. In the rafters, at the points of their connection with the pillars, insets 5 cm deep are made. The connection is strengthened with a metal corner. At the junction with each other, the rafters are sawn vertically, carefully adjusted to each other and secured with nails and metal corners. The roof should not have a slight slope, otherwise snow in winter can damage it.

you own summer cottage plot, garden, do you want to become the owner of a small cozy gazebo? This open-closed structure promotes privacy, serves as a great place for family summer dinners, tea parties in the fresh air, provides shelter on a hot afternoon, and protects from rain.

First you need to select a project. A polygon-shaped structure is not as easy to install as a rectangular one, but the resulting effect will make you forget about these difficulties.

The wooden octagonal gazebo looks the most attractive and compact. If you have a drawing, then building an octagonal gazebo with your own hands will not be difficult. The process will take no more than 2 days, provided that all necessary Consumables and the instruments were prepared in advance. If you are limited in funds, you can, in accordance with personal preferences, order a drawing of the structure from a construction company or buy it already ready-made projects octagonal gazebos.

Materials and tools

It is important to choose the right location so that the dimensions of the octagonal gazebo fit clearly into the landscape. Study a detailed schematic representation of your own property. The diagram should show the main buildings on a good scale: house, barn, bathhouse, location garden trees and paths. Everything must be functional. Closed, shady, secluded corners of your site are perfect for a gazebo.

Materials required for installation of the building:

  • concrete for installing tubular foundation formwork;
  • timber for erecting racks;
  • bars (logs) for the floor;
  • batten;
  • rafter beam;
  • roofing material (roof felt or tiles);
  • metal parts for fastening (nails, bolts, screws).

Do not forget that each wooden part must undergo step-by-step antifungal treatment with a special impregnation, since the gazebo will always be outdoors. It is better to purchase metal parts from stainless steel.

Prepare the necessary tools:

  • saw, drill with a set of drills;
  • tape measure, marking pencil, hammer;
  • shovel;
  • garden earthen drill for digging holes for posts.
  • gloves, safety glasses, ladder.

Proceed with the step-by-step construction of an octagonal gazebo with your own hands.

The foundation can be solid (concrete) or wooden (timber). If you plan to subsequently move the building, then it is better to choose wooden version. How to install tubular formwork under the foundation can be seen in the photographs. Then lay the timber - the base under the floorboard.

Wooden structures require careful handling. To avoid cracks in the timber, first carefully drill holes in the place where the screws are screwed in. Secure the corner fasteners using metal brackets.

The walls of the gazebo are erected quickly according to the existing drawing.

It is better to install the rafters for mounting the gazebo roof in pairs, evenly mounting them on opposite sides. Do not forget about the parts of the rafters protruding beyond the contour of the gazebo. When the roof frame is ready, you should start covering. First, the roof is sheathed with saw-cut plywood pieces. They are fixed to the rafters with stainless steel screws. If you don't have plywood, regular boards will do. Do not forget to pre-treat them with stain, which protects the wood from rotting. Then wooden roof covered with tiles or other roofing material.

Having finished with the roof, proceed to installing the fencing of the building. If desired, you can give free space to your imagination and give the fence various shapes, not forgetting to take into account the dimensions. Everything should be harmonious and pleasing to the eye. It is important at the end of the work to seal all unnecessary holes with a special wooden putty. After complete drying, sand the wood surface well.
