A bathhouse with a veranda under one roof. Bathhouse projects with a terrace and barbecue: photos of different options

The relaxation room in the bathhouse has become as important a part as the steam room. At bath procedures ah alternating exposure high temperatures saunas with intervals to restore the body between visits to the steam room. The rest room is designed to make these breaks comfortable. When planning to build a bathhouse, you should definitely allocate a room for restoration.

Advice from professionals will tell you how to choose the right project wisely.

Peculiarities

Bathhouse designs with a relaxation room can be divided into three groups. The first group is traditional one-story baths. They are built from capital building materials with low thermal conductivity, they have a standard set of premises: there is a steam room, a shower room, a relaxation room, a dressing room, and sometimes a terrace.

The relaxation room is located on the ground floor next to the steam room and washroom and combines the functions of a locker room. This is the most convenient option that allows you to maintain optimal temperature in all rooms, since the stove evenly heats all adjacent rooms with steam supplied to the sauna compartment.

This layout allows you to place the furnace firebox both in the steam room, which is not always convenient, and in the relaxation room.

The stoker is at a comfortable temperature, and it is also easier to remove debris after kindling. Modern technological furnaces long burning can have a glass screen, which allows you to admire the play of the flame while relaxing, creating a pleasant fireplace atmosphere and giving living warmth to the inhabitants of the room. The simple layout, however, includes everything necessary for bath procedures and has great variability in area.

The minimum building area is from 16 square meters. meters, which is convenient for small areas, the maximum is at the request of the owner. This option does not require large investments due to the energy intensity of heating.

The second group is projects with a recreation room located in the attic or on the second floor. This will require the construction of a second floor or roof insulation., which will entail additional consumption of materials, the foundation will need to be strengthened to increase the load-bearing load. This option is convenient when large area buildings.

On the ground floor there is a dressing room, a locker room, a steam room, and a wash room. On the second floor there is a rest room with or without a balcony. It will be necessary to allocate space for a flight of stairs. A beautiful spiral staircase can decorate the interior of a bathhouse.

The third group of projects involves moving the relaxation room onto the terrace. This layout is convenient for summer use. In the cold season, the terrace will need to be glazed and a heating system needs to be thought through. However, this arrangement of the rest room provides a lot of scope for implementing design solutions.

A panoramic view of the landscape adds aesthetic pleasure to moments of relaxation.

The choice of layout depends on the seasonal use of the bathhouse. The first and second group of projects are suitable for year-round use. In summer, it is enough to have a rest room under a canopy with flexible glazing made of film or polycarbonate for a budget option.

The availability of free space on the site is of great importance, and if it is not enough, then raising a recreation room to the attic would be a good solution. Heating the second floor in the cold season requires the installation of an air or water circuit. Installing a long-burning stove with a convector on the ground floor can solve this problem.

The placement of a bathhouse on the site must meet the standards fire safety and ease of use. It is advisable to orient the windows of the rest room towards an attractive view. It's nice to see beautiful landscapes before your eyes, and not a fence or a neighbor's shed.

It is advisable to choose an elevated area for good ventilation and water drainage. The proximity of an artificial or natural body of water can be an effective addition.

Special attention are given to materials for the construction of a bathhouse. Traditionally, preference is given natural wood in the form of timber or rounded logs of linden, aspen, cedar.

Pine is more affordable, has a beautiful pattern of knotty wood fibers and is a popular material for a summer bathhouse. Its disadvantage is the porous structure of the wood, which greatly changes its performance due to heat and high humidity, so in the steam room and shower, pine needs to be sheathed with a hardwood slats, and For a relaxation room, pine with its pleasant smell and aesthetic appearance will be the optimal solution.

Brick is a more expensive material, but it has the best durability and resistance to temperature changes.

A budget building can also be built from foam blocks. The construction of a bathhouse from blocks can be done with your own hands, even without special knowledge.

The interior spaces are lined with a block house and finished with tiles or natural stone.

Decorating a relaxation room involves following a certain style; finishing materials are selected depending on the design.

Subtleties of design

Designing a bathhouse yourself is an exciting activity. To do this, you need to stock up on paper, pencil and ruler.

For a family of 4-5 people and several guests optimal size a bathhouse of 6x6 meters with an attic is considered. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, steam room, shower room with toilet, relaxation room or living room. The recreation room can be supplemented with a kitchen, and the second floor is reserved for leisure and additional space to accommodate guests or family members. The entrance area of the second floor with an area of 18 meters can be occupied by a studio or billiard room. Behind it there are two symmetrical bedrooms or rooms for children of 9 square meters. meters.

The functionality of the bathhouse is significantly expanded, and for this there is no need to build big house. The compact layout with a bathroom satisfies the needs of the average family for a country holiday.

With terrace

A bathhouse with a terrace is an excellent option for summer meals in the fresh air after bathing procedures. A barbecue grill can be placed on the area in front of the bathhouse or a grill area can be added to the veranda space. To do this, the size of the terrace must be increased so as to provide free access to the brazier and avoid smoke. dining table and windows.

The minimum distance between the stove and the table must be at least 2 meters. A ready-made metal brazier is installed or a stone brazier is built from bricks with a chimney. For such a barbecue, a separate foundation is erected, which is taken into account at the design stage.

It is better to make the floor of the terrace from paving slabs or sandstone if the terrace is open. For glass terrace Wooden floors are also used. Glazing is made of sliding aluminum or plastic frames. Plastic frames used for warm glazing. Lightweight aluminum structures provide protection from the elements, but the temperature inside the enclosed space will only be a couple of degrees higher than outside.

Bathhouse with barbecue and panoramic glazing on the veranda will become a place of attraction for household members after a working week.

With swimming pool

The benefits of bath procedures will increase many times over when arranging a swimming pool or plunge pool in the relaxation room. The pool is located near the shower room.

The pool bowl is made of concrete and finished with tiles.

The tiles are matched to match general finishing rest rooms. Floral patterns and mosaics will add an oriental flavor. For a Russian-style bathhouse, stone, brick and wooden sides are suitable.

IN one-story baths often they design a complex of a terrace with a plunge pool under a canopy. The font is made of wood and placed on a wooden platform in the fresh air.

In the Japanese version, the hot tub is heated with electric heating elements, which are built into the housing. Combining a recreation area with a bathhouse, a ready-made frame pool is installed for summer swimming or a stationary pool is erected, with sun loungers or beach chairs placed nearby.

The reservoir can have strict geometric outlines or be close to its natural shape. In this case, the shore is decorated with pebbles and plants: hosta, astilbe, and cereals. The bathhouse with a swimming pool on the terrace is protected from prying eyes by a hedge from flowering bushes or vines on supports.

For a comprehensive recreation area it is required good lighting, since it is used in the evening.

Lighting the area with electricity is done if there are communications; a more economical option is lighting with LEDs or solar-powered lanterns.

Small room

Small baths cannot boast of a large set of rooms, so they often have a shower in the rest room. In the decoration of premises with such planning solution must be taken into account high humidity and select appropriate materials: tiles, plastic panels, natural or artificial stone.

The shower must be separated from the relaxation area with a glass or plastic partition so that splashes do not disturb vacationers.

It is preferable to purchase furniture from moisture-resistant materials. Correct selection finishing will make using the shower convenient, and staying in the rest room will be comfortable.

Design

The design of the rest room is determined by the chosen design style. For finishing a bath it is better to choose natural materials, resistant to moisture. It is convenient to keep all rooms clean if the space is not cluttered with unnecessary objects and the surfaces are easy to clean. The design of the rest room is determined by the chosen design style.

Most people consider baths as places for washing and good rest.

Those who own country houses and plots, often strive to create their own individual projects of bathhouses with a terrace and barbecue under one roof.

And this is logical, because your own sauna is an opportunity to relax in relaxing conditions, have a feast, barbecue on the open terrace, relieve tension and stress by sitting comfortably in the relaxation area.

What is a terrace

It is considered to be an open area near the main building. Such a site has fences and a floor.

The owner determines the size of the terrace himself depending on his desires and financial potential.

A heavy stove is placed in this area. Taking into account this installation, certain specifics of the structure are formed.

Basis of construction

Most convenient option a strip foundation under all the walls of the bathhouse and the barbecue area is considered. The foundation is poured to the height of the floor, since the level implies the placement of the furnace itself.

The platform can be adjacent to the walls of the bathhouse on one or more sides. It can also be placed at a certain distance from the main building.

You can create a large platform that will go right next to the house. And already at the edge, arrange a slight removal. Here is a modest takeout that can be very harmoniously combined with a path where you can organize a barbecue. With this arrangement, smoke will not interfere with rest.

General view of the roof

The roof of a bathhouse with an open area is often common. But the foundations are necessarily created separately.

And between the bathhouse and the open space (if the site is adjacent to the bathhouse) insulation is laid. In this situation, the shrinkage of buildings is carried out independently.

Often shrinkage occurs unevenly. When zone filling, when the roof of the terrace and bathhouse is common, rafter diagram the roof must be floating. This way, it is possible to reduce the unevenness of drawdowns for the future to certain standards.

About coatings

If you plan to make a platform with wooden floor covering, then it’s worth choosing due to availability. It is the tape type that is quite simple to manufacture.

When considering the version with paving slabs, a profiled membrane and crushed stone backfill with sand are installed in the foundation.

The option is the simplest to implement and in terms of price.

The cost of a pile foundation is modest. During work, only wooden supporting components are installed - racks, which will serve as supporting elements for the roof.

At such sites, low-height wooden fences are often installed. The terraces themselves are attached to log or cobblestone walls. This is a traditional style.

Modern baths most often have terraces covered with tiles (sidewalk versions or ceramics)

A tiled foundation with insulation must be laid under brick or stone support pillars.

The laying goes to a shallow depth. If such pillars stand on heaving soils without insulation, then winter time they will easily float. If the foundation is laid on dry, non-heaving soils, insulation can be abandoned.

Therefore, work on the foundation begins with studying the soil, which is selected for the width of the intended veranda. 50 cm is added to this parameter.

This is necessary for the protection device, which will be served by an insulated blind area. The blind area will shield the slab from the side and protect it from freezing.

The factors determining the depth of the pit are as follows:

  • type of region;
  • soil heaving level;
  • final finishing thickness.

Its advantages:

  • excellent thermal insulation;
  • powerful resistance to rot and water, fungi, mold, as well as mechanical influences;
  • Rodents and insects cannot harm it.

If you live in middle lane, then you are better off using EPS boards with an approximate thickness of 10 cm.

Soil remains in this working pit. It should be leveled and compacted. Next, crushed stone is poured. Requirements for it: medium fraction, thickness 10-15 cm. Crushed stone is carefully compacted. For this operation it is better to use a vibrating plate.

At this stage of work, a slope is formed to form a blind area. At the indicated 50 cm from the edge of the terrace, it is necessary to level the crushed stone so that its thickness decreases towards the edge.

Provided that the groundwater level is significant, drainage is arranged in the crushed stone. A pipe is needed here. Its correct position is 20-30 cm from the base of the house. The pipe will drain water that gets under the slab. Sand is poured onto the compacted crushed stone. The layer is 10-15 cm. It is also thoroughly compacted. Until there are no shoe marks. The slope for the blind area is also maintained.

The whole thing is covered with waterproofing on top. It is better to use polymer membranes. They have high strength and a decent service life. And thanks to the uneven surface of the membrane, they slightly compensate for the heaving load in winter.

  • 10-15 cm of it is placed on the wall of the building (one edge);
  • the second edge covers the entire width of the blind area (this edge needs to be sprinkled with soil).

The waterproofing is covered with EPS boards. Another waterproofing layer with the same parameters as the previous one is placed on them. Both films must be secured with a clamping bar.

After these operations, formwork must be placed around the perimeter of the terrace being created. Those 50 cm are not taken into account. The formwork here will be a board whose height exceeds 1 m. Its fortifications are posts or jibs.

The reinforcement is laid out into halves of bricks, which guarantee a distance of 5 cm from the extreme side of the concrete slab.

The reinforcing material here is rods. Their required diameter is 6 mm. The required step for laying them is 10 cm in the lengthwise and crosswise directions. The areas where they intersect must be tied with knitting wire. This creates a reinforcing frame. Next, the concrete composition is poured into the formwork.
Its acceptable thickness is 10 cm. Proportions:

  • cement – 1 share;
  • sand – 2 shares;
  • crushed stone - share;
  • water is slightly less than the proportion of cement.

You can increase the resistance of the slab to frost using a concrete vibrator. It is not difficult to rent or purchase.

After the concrete has hardened, a film, preferably light-proof, is spread over the surface. If the work takes place in the heat, then the stove is sprayed with water for several days. The day after pouring the composition, you need to moisten it generously.

The following days – moisten it moderately. If you did not introduce any additives into the composition to accelerate its hardening, then finishing should begin after 3-4 weeks.

The formwork itself can be disposed of 6-7 days from the moment of pouring. Then, above the blind area (those 50 cm), pour and level the soil.

Formation of a pile foundation

As already noted, if a site with a wooden covering is planned, then a pile foundation should be installed. For its creation there is the most important condition - low level groundwater. If these waters are quite close to the surface, a columnar foundation with a slight recess will be required.

For him best option- these are asbestos-cement metal pipes which are very durable and rust resistant. You can also arrange plastic pipes. True, plastic is less durable, but soil deposits do not cling to it.

Whatever pipe option is chosen, their required diameter is 20 cm. The piles are installed in increments depending on the type of soil and the impact on the terrace. The average value here is: 100 – 150 cm.

It is necessary to drill holes in the soil below its freezing depth. A 15-20 cm crushed stone bedding is created. The crushed stone is being compacted. Pipes are inserted. Their edges from above are concentrated at the same level.

Advice: To make it easier to insert pipes, you can fill a small bag of crushed stone inside.

The installation should be with the desired verticality. To check this parameter, it is better to use a plumb line.

Align the pipes along the planes with conveniently tensioned threads. For this purpose, reinforcing bars are driven in and placed vertically at important points. Laces are tied to them, serving as markings for the placement of pillars.

2-3 rods are driven into each pipe. Their required parameter: 8-10 mm. You just need to bandage them in advance with good elastic wire. The correct positions of each rod are at least 5 cm from the wall. This way, moisture and oxygen will not reach them, and they will not be destroyed by rust.

Having positioned the reinforcement, fill the piles concrete composition. Its uniformity must be the highest. To achieve this task, use a vibrating concrete device. A submersible type modification is needed here. Its club and flexible shaft should reach a length of 150 - 200 cm.

If such equipment is not available, concrete piercing will be required. A thick reinforcing rod pierces the concrete right through. These actions eliminate air bubbles. Concrete should be pierced in this way immediately after it is poured. As a result, the composition settles slightly. And you need to add it a little.

You can also tap the pipe with a rubber mallet to improve the uniformity of the composition. Next, the concrete needs time to harden. Minimum 1-2 days.

The process of attaching the strapping

After these operations, you need to attach bars with parameters 15 x 5 or 7.5 x 15 cm to the posts from below. Before laying, be sure to treat them with protective compounds, antiseptics, and cover them with stains and varnish.

Moisture should not reach the wood through concrete. Therefore, place waterproofing in 1-2 layers under the bars.

It is also necessary to attach joists to the concrete. There are the following ways to do this:

  • while pouring piles in concrete mixture the studs are heated, then the logs are strung on them;
  • logs are mounted metal corners, here you need dimensional dowels;
  • U-like plates treated with zinc are used (variants of these plates: attached to the pile using dowels, having a pin that sinks into the concrete when it is poured).

Attaching joists to a structure is more difficult. It is best to proceed here using this method: a beam is attached at the desired level. To do this, use studs (version M12*1000) or anchor-type bolts (minimum diameter - 1 cm). Fasteners are installed in increments of 50-60 cm. To improve the strength of fastening, fasteners are placed in a zigzag: one is higher, the other is lower. The joints here are covered with sealant.

And it is already necessary to attach logs and other elements to the beam. In the process, it is important to use galvanized iron fasteners.

Note: When making the flooring, keep in mind that its height should be approximately 2.5 cm lower than the floor in the bathhouse. This way, water will not penetrate into the structure. Measuring the height of the window sill from the floor will help you navigate this task. On the outside there is a level 2.5 cm lower. Then it drops even lower - to the thickness of the board. That is, if the thickness is 3 cm, then the beam for support is nailed below the floor in the building already 5.5 cm.

And at the initial stage of installation of the trim, the support beam is attached to the wall. It is on this basis that calculations should be made when installing strappings and joists. The specified beam can be used when determining the level of piles, which are placed along its lower edge.

It turns out that one beam is attached to the wall, the second to the piles. And to both bars you need to attach logs, which are placed at intervals of 40-60 cm. After which the flooring is nailed to them. Its optimal material is a special decking board. On one side there is a wave-like profile. When such a surface gets wet, there is no slipping.

To create bathhouses with terraces, you must first create projects, preferably with your own hands. Although you can turn to professionals.

Large terrace and remote barbecue area

Here the sauna is surrounded by a terrace on three sides. The site is characterized by an impressive area. This will allow any company to comfortably accommodate. Some part of the terrace can be arranged under a canopy, which will become a resting place on windy and rainy days. A separate takeout can become a barbecue location.

According to the scheme in this project, the stove simultaneously heats four adjacent rooms. If the building will be visited in winter, the rest room should also be heated. The power implied here is significant. This room needs another heat source. It is large in size, and the stove does not heat it.

Important! If you are creating a bathhouse for all seasons, then move part of the relaxation room under the vestibule or into the hall.

Version with barbecue and terrace

There are two entrances here. The first one is obtained from the porch. The other is from the terrace. The bathhouse has its own bathroom and kitchen large parameters. Area of the entire bathhouse and extensions: 14*7 m.

At the first entrance there is a vestibule. This entrance is meant to be used more often in winter. In summer, the terrace can be enlarged due to wide sliding doors.

Corner type

This option is very functional. The bathhouse here is allocated a minimum space, and there are all the necessary premises. The spaciousness of the shower room is such that you can place some kind of structure for ablution there.

Most often a font is placed here. The furnace is fired from a steam room. If you move the doors, the stove can be concentrated closer to the corner, even wedged into the wall.

Then the firebox will be fired from the shower room. For other rooms, heating should be thought out, especially if you intend to actively visit the bathhouse in the cold.

Modest type with porch and terrace

There is no vestibule, which complicates the use of the bathhouse in winter. There is a locker room. Moist air follows from the washing room.

Therefore, it is necessary to arrange high-quality ventilation here. Initial and final holes are made, that is, for entry and exit.

The second one has a special fan for exhaust. Only with this arrangement moisture is removed quickly.

The diagram is presented below:

Whatever option you prefer, based on your intentions and financial capabilities, you guarantee yourself excellent mental rest.

It is important to know: Be sure to study fire safety rules before erecting any option. This is extremely necessary if barbecuing takes place on the terrace in the future.

Bathhouse projects with a loggia and barbecue are an excellent method to compensate for the lack of free space on suburban area. This combination allows you to create a functional entertainment area, which can additionally be used as a summer kitchen.

In addition, this solution has other advantages:

  • organization of a complete relaxation - after steaming and relaxing after the bath, you can immediately cook barbecue or snacks on the fire on the veranda;
  • integrated construction can help accurately transfer the overall building style for all buildings on the site;
  • if a bathhouse in a country house is planned to be used exclusively during the season, then an extensive loggia with a barbecue can completely replace the entertainment room, which will help to save significantly on the construction of a bathhouse;
  • there is no need to connect separate objects with paths, which allows additional savings the required area and reduce costs;
  • combining several objects under one roof will help to significantly reduce costs, since in such a situation, for example, the wall of a bathhouse will also become the wall of a loggia.

Selection of material

Complex including swimming pools, sauna and extensive entertainment area

A very well-known and economically viable material for building a bathhouse with a loggia is wood beams. On the one hand, it retains heat well, so the bathhouse will not require auxiliary insulation. In addition, wood itself is a common material for a Russian bath; it allows you to create an exclusive “bath” atmosphere. An additional plus is that wood, as a “breathable” material, independently regulates humidity, although at the same time it requires additional safety from mold and fire.
Brick baths are more reliable in terms of fire protection, although they take longer to heat up and require the greatest amount of fuel. Besides, brick baths will require the mandatory installation of a ventilation system, otherwise condensation will begin to accumulate inside the bathhouse, provoking the formation of mold and microbes.

Laying the foundation

Despite the often common roof, different foundations are laid under the loggia and the bathhouse. The bathhouse, of course, is heavier than the loggia, therefore for the largest in area and high-rise buildings A solid strip foundation is required, but for small baths it is possible to get by with a pile foundation. If foam concrete or brick is used to build a bathhouse, then a strip foundation will certainly be poured - otherwise it simply will not withstand the weight of the construction.

For a wooden loggia, a pile foundation will be quite sufficient. In those episodes when the loggia is placed on difficult soil, prone to freezing or crumbling, on slopes, then to increase stability it is more original to lay helical piles. Along with this for wooden buildings It is too important to correctly create waterproofing between the tree and the foundation in order to avoid rotting of the wood.

Loggia and barbecue: counting correctly

When planning a loggia, first of all you need to take into account what purpose of the wind is considered the main one, so that the purpose of the bathhouse covers the loggia. In addition, this will allow the barbecue to be positioned correctly so that the wind carries the smoke and heat away from the visitors. If the loggia will serve as a refuge from the sun's rays on a hot summer day, then there is no need to place it in the southern direction. Or, on the contrary, a loggia with a sun lounger will most likely become a wonderful space for sunbathing - here it entirely depends on the desires and tastes of the owner. In addition, the selection of the location of the loggia is greatly influenced by the view around it - contemplation of the fence is unlikely to add to the mood on vacation, it is much more pleasant to enjoy a forest, a lake or a landscaped exterior.

The loggia can be placed frontally (i.e. along the facade of the bathhouse, Fig. 1), on the side (near one of the walls), it has the opportunity to have a corner location (along 2 adjacent walls) or encircling (along 3 walls, sometimes entirely around the bathhouse, if the territory allows).

Rice. 1. Plan of a bathhouse with a frontal location of the loggia

Frontal arrangement of the terrace

Elegant and laconic bath with loggia and barbecue

If you don't expect to invite a large number of people, then taking into account the introduction of barbecue (barbecue), the smallest proposed loggia area is 7-8 m². Although it is best to start with 9-10 m², then in addition to tables and chairs on the loggia it will be possible to install a sun lounger, a couple of chairs, while the person standing at the barbecue will have enough free space for activities, and vacationers will not get bored with the heat from the stove and smoke.

Although a loggia in the traditional sense is open area, for maximum convenience, it contains a roof for safety from rain and sun. This may well be a continuation of the roof of the bathhouse and be made of a similar roofing material, or you can serve the loggia with translucent polycarbonate. In addition, an opaque canopy will create twilight in the bathhouse itself, so you will need to connect the light earlier.

Recommendation! Polycarbonate coating is especially suitable for large loggias - there is no need to build a powerful base, the lightweight iron system will not clutter up the space, remaining virtually invisible.

For the floor on the loggia, it is preferable to use a wooden board or decking. Naturally, you can lay sidewalk or ceramic tiles, although the tree will look more comfortable. Natural stone is used in the form of spraying on a large loggia.

Natural stone will be a striking treatment for the loggia

To install a barbecue, you need to lay the foundation separately, and special fire-resistant bricks are used for construction, and the base is made at a height of about 70 centimeters from the floor.

Recommendation! To improve fire safety, it is more original to place stone (tile) tiles near the barbecue instead of wood coating - even if a spark falls on it, it will not cause a fire.

A rectangular niche is made in the front wall, in which it will be possible to store a small supply of firewood. To remove smoke from a barbecue, a certain chimney is made, which in height must guarantee effective removal of smoke from the bathhouse.

On the loggia you need to allocate space for firewood

An extensive relaxation complex, including entertainment rooms, a bathhouse, a loggia with a barbecue

Planning a bathhouse with a loggia and barbecue oven

The plan of a bathhouse, regardless of the type (Russian, Turkish, Finnish), must provide for the presence of at least 3 rooms:

  • locker room - dressing room with the smallest volume of 1.2-3 m2, although along with this it is necessary to take into account that according to the standards per person there should be 1.3 m²;
  • shower room - smallest volume 2x2 m;
  • steam room - its volume is a compromise between the comfort of placement and the need to maintain the required temperature at low fuel (electricity) consumption. Smallest size a steam room for 2-3 persons will be 1.3-1.8 m.

If there is a predominance of a spacious loggia for a seasonal bath, you can abandon the entertainment room. The planning of the remaining premises, of course, depends on the aspirations and probabilities of the future owner.

In this regard, everything you need for fun in the bathhouse fits under one roof

Let's take a closer look at the individual plans.

Corner bath with a loggia and barbecue (Fig. 2) allows for excellent use of the site area if you place it in one of the corners.

The space is used too constructively - the spacious shower room has a plunge pool with cool water. The steam room is quite large - it will be quite comfortable to heat the stove in it; at the same time, it is moved closer to the corner, away from the front door - this is safer, since after the flashy lighting of the shower room, the eyes would like to get used to the subdued light of the steam room. If brick is chosen as the material for the bathhouse, then the stove can be embedded into the walls. If you arrange the steam room a little more insignificantly, then with this location of the stove it can be heated from the shower room. There are 2 entrances to the common vestibule - one from the street, the second from the loggia.

Therefore, if its year-round implementation is expected, installation of a heating system is required. Inside is an extensive entertainment room and some kitchen area. The loggia is located on the side, in area it is almost half of the building. Entrance from two sides - from the street through the vestibule (winter entrance) and from the loggia.

It is worth noting such an important fact that brick buildings can be finished with porcelain stoneware or tiles. This will give them a certain originality in appearance. Besides, exterior finishing walls can be very interestingly combined with one or another type of roofing materials.

The bathhouse is usually covered with pliable roofing materials, and it is possible that tiles, slate or metal profiles will be used. Along with this, you can build both an ordinary gable roof and an attic. The attic is good because it allows you to combine buildings with a bathhouse for visitors to live in; in addition, you can equip an office or a room for summer recreation there.

The final step in choosing a project for building a bathhouse is to develop it either in three-dimensional form or in paper form. This is how you will have the opportunity to see the bathhouse with your own eyes long before it is built. This will allow you to make the necessary corrections during construction, and it will become much easier to build a room according to a plan created in advance.

Washing in your own bathhouse cannot be classified as a banal hygiene procedure. This is a true pleasure, which is accompanied by a pleasant feast in the company of friends and leisurely conversation. Therefore, when planning to build a small bathhouse on your site, do not miss the chance to make it truly comfortable and convenient.

In the warm season, after a hot steam room, you want to go out into the fresh air, settle into soft chair and freeze in sweet languor.

Your holiday will not be overshadowed by the vagaries of the weather if a bathhouse with a terrace under one roof is built on the site.

What should its layout be in order to water procedures optimally combined with relaxation, board games and cooking homemade meals, we will consider in more detail.

Bath layout options

It is advantageous to build a terrace (veranda) not as a separate structure, but under the same roof as a bathhouse. Therefore, at least one size (length or width) must be the same. The easiest way to implement this idea is as follows: the gable roof of the bathhouse on one side rests on the main wall, and the other rests on the racks (columns) of the terrace.

The second step is to determine the usable area of the terrace. It directly depends on the number of people visiting the bathhouse at the same time. For a family of 4 people, 8 m2 is enough for comfortable seating at the table. If the company is more representative (6-8 people), then include at least 14 m2 in the project. Having determined the area of the veranda, you can finally decide on which side of the bathhouse it is best located.

Optimally arranged along a narrow end wall small terrace. If you want to make a more spacious room, then it is better to make an open canopy along the wide side of the bathhouse.

Another interesting option layout - placing a terrace between the bathhouse and the residential building. This way, you won't have to look for a place to cook or wait for the rain to end. Only in this case is it better to attach a bathhouse with a veranda to the blind side of the house so that smoke from the heater chimney (when using solid fuel) does not get into the windows of the living quarters.

When considering the design of a bathhouse with a terrace in terms of its internal layout, you need to proceed from the external dimensions of the structure. It is within this framework that you will have to “fit” all the rooms: dressing room, bathroom, shower, steam room, relaxation room and terrace. You can save useful space by abandoning the rest room and transferring its functions to the veranda. However, in this case, during the cold season you will have nowhere to relax after washing in the bathhouse. Therefore, reserve at least 6-7 m2 for it.

If your plans do not include the construction of a full-size bathhouse measuring 6 by 6 meters as in the figure above, then you can do it differently: remove the rest room from the layout, glaze the terrace and make a barbecue oven in it.

For the autumn and spring seasons, the heat from such a fireplace will be enough to create a comfortable temperature. In this case, the external dimensions of the bathhouse with a veranda can be reduced to a minimum (4 by 4 meters), without losing in comfort and ease of use.

Options for adding rooms

In addition to the considered solutions with a rest room, glassed veranda with a barbecue, the idea of adding an attic to the bathhouse deserves attention. It significantly expands the usable area and makes it possible to equip a guest room, a small fireplace room or a billiard room under one roof.

To implement such a profitable idea, you need to provide a place to install a narrow and not too steep staircase. It's not difficult to find. It is enough to slightly increase the area of the hallway (dressing room).

On the second floor near the bathhouse you can design a spacious balcony. To do this, the attic roof needs to be extended so that it covers the veranda.

The slope of the roof will take away part of the usable area from the second floor. Despite this, there will be enough space in the attic for a recreation room with a billiard table. If desired, you can install a lightweight open fireplace with an exhaust hood.

Photos of different bath options

Having gained an idea of the external layout and internal layout baths with terraces, you should look at their visual embodiment. This will help us more accurately determine the material for the new building.

In photo No. 1 we see a classic bathhouse made of rounded logs, covered gable roof from metal tiles. The roof covers not only the bathhouse, but also the terrace and balcony of the second floor.

The beautiful knitting of crowns serves as the main decoration of the facade. The only remark is the irrational use of attic space. Gable roof takes up a lot of usable space from the second level premises. In this regard, a broken roof is more profitable.

Photo No. 2 shows an inexpensive and compact sauna made of timber with a terrace. Nothing superfluous is the life credo of the owner of such a structure. inexpensive and quite sufficient for installing walls from wooden beam. Under the terrace, a strip foundation is not needed at all. Three concrete columns for the roof support posts and a timber frame are the most reasonable solution.

You don't have to cover the veranda common roof with a bathhouse, and protect it with an ordinary flat canopy. Photo No. 3 shows appearance structures measuring 6 by 4 meters with a veranda located along long wall. As we can see, there is enough space for a dining table and a small barbecue stove.

When planning to build a bathhouse with a veranda, you don’t have to invent complex options, but simply combine it with a regular one garden gazebo, as in photo No. 4.

A polycarbonate roof will not only reliably protect you from rain, but also create pleasant partial shade.

The bathhouse can become the central structure for the entire recreation area country estate. In this case, the terrace should be truly spacious and comfortable. To do this, it should be made as wide as possible or extended by unfolding it in the shape of the letter “L”.

In the far corner of the large log shed, a summer stove with a compartment for frying kebabs and steaks is conveniently located.

Construction materials

Wood is the most popular material for constructing a bathhouse with a terrace. Moreover, this can be not only an expensive profiled beam, but also an affordable rounded log.

Excellent bath characteristics are achievable at an inexpensive price, provided that ecowool is used as insulation rather than polystyrene foam.

And aerated concrete is well suited for bathhouse construction. These materials effectively solve the problem of insulation and do not require expensive finishing. Important condition durability of such a structure - good protection walls from moisture (deeply penetrating waterproofing and high-quality putty).

Brick is almost never used as the main material for walls today. But it is indispensable for the front decoration of the facade and looks good as a decorative fencing terraces.

A lover of the original can be advised to build round sauna with terrace. Two dump trucks of firewood, one truck of clay and a cart of hay - that’s all the materials needed to build a unique and environmentally flawless structure.

An original turnkey bathhouse is a wonderful way not only to relax and forget about the tedious workdays, but also to restore efficiency and get rid of illnesses.
